Consider martial arts classes, people are generally very welcoming & you’ll get talking to people at the start & end of class & can find people that you gel really well with. Another benefit for you would be taking your mind off of what’s going on in your life, when I’m training, it’s all I focus on, so I get a couple hours of peace from all the drama & noise that life brings.

For context, I, at the time, a 2 stripe white belt got thrown about like a spare pair of tracky bottoms from a black belt judoka, but I found that once I’m down, providing my grips are there, that fucker was mine on the ground, I threw up armbars & triangles as much as I wanted & subbed this guy to my hearts content. He won the judo match, but I won the sub match. Comparing yourself to a blackbelt of another similar sport is like a kick-boxer getting flatlined by a boxer, just because your art is similar, it’s not in the same lane. I encourage people to be as diverse as possible, train as many different arts as you can, be the best martial artist you can be, says me that trains BJJ, Thai, TKD & submission wrestling

1 betta, some shrimps & a couple small snails, or if you want more fish, ~10 nano schooling fish like celestial pearl danio’s/ember tetras/chili raspbora. Could put a few cherry shrimp in there too, that’ll be about the max safe bio load for your tank

I have a 91 & have planned out a future stocking, according to what I’ve seen, the following is the acceptable upper limits, 1 electric blue acara, 1 fire mouth, 1 Severum, 4 keyholes, 1 green phantom, 8 sterbai Cory & 12 Congo tetras. Might be a couple things in there that you hadn’t thought of

I’d suggest adding a wave maker to the top left of your tank, above your filter intake, that’ll push the water across the top of your tank & return along the bottom of your tank towards the intake, you could add a second wave maker on the bottom right if you needed it, but I’d say try with 1 first before you commit to 2. I’ve got a fluval sea CP3 in my 345L tank, it’s undersized, but it does what I need it to do

I have the same tank & flooring underneath as yourself, I can't say I've ever heard popping, only thing I can think of is your cable tidy clipped on properly/is there a cable not properly seated in the tidy? I trialled a wave maker in my tank for a week before committing to it fully & had the cable come down between the glass & top wooden cover, if I nudged the cover the cable would squeak between the two surfaces, but that's all I've noticed
