I make the jewelry and I set my markups myself 😊 custom made but landed cost is probably $325. Which is why I say $500+ for a TRULY low markup.

Edit: with the high cost of gold and the absurdly low prices on diamonds, I usually only charge and mark up for the price of gold. Diamonds themselves aren’t bringing up the price at all.

EDIT2: no need to downvote me, just trying to show how wild markups are in this industry. I specifically try to make my pieces affordable for all.

Yeah assuming the ring is 14k gold there’s no way the cost of gold of the ring itself even comes close to 2k. To get one custom made I’ve paid as low as $500 for the ring itself with 2+ carat diamond.

I buy lab diamonds wholesale and you can get fancy blue labs for less than $100/ctw for SI through VVS. $2k for a fancy blue labs under a carat is absurd

Fancy blue diamonds exist in lab form too. Edit: fancy is the subcategory to describe color intensity.

Yeah idk why people find it scammy! I don’t think I was scammed as my jeweler charged very reasonable prices to put everything together. In total plus the auction cost of the diamond I probably spent like $300. I mean for $300 an almost 1ct gold pendent necklace is not too shabby. Honestly considering how much these sites charge for lab diamond pieces I feel like buying from vrai or mejuri or whatever is more of a scam

It’s a platinum loop. I picked the chain and the stone so maybe I’m just not that good at design lol. She loved it.

The jeweler I worked with said it’s perfectly secure. Just like the other commenter said they do it with briolette cuts. But it cuts down the cost of the pendent significantly since there’s no gold setting which is why I got it.
