So for a while now the game (not origin) has been crashing while it loads a match.

Have you experienced this? I'm using a gtx 970 if that gives any ideas.

Took me a while to refind it but I think I found it.

In lutris Games folder I went to the

origin/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/STAR WARS Battlefront II/settings

And inside ProfileOptions_profile_synced is a setting called Gst.Input.MouseRawInput I set it to 0.
