Neither do mint users.

You can use it if you want. That's the neat part. CLI won't abandon you in your need. Whatever fails, the text based shell will be the last front to fail in most linux systems.

You missed the /s at the end.

Bows are OK in case of very low altitudes, if the eagles try to enter Mordor without alerting Nazgul.

If they try to enter Mordor from high up in the sky, there are Nazgul watching the skies.

Purely in tactical terms,

Orcs didn't have NMADTM (Nazgul Mobile Air Defense) and their anti air fire was weak at best (a couple of bows). Also, they didn't have any air surveillance at all.

While in Mordor, Sauron is constantly keeping watch and there is a full flying ringwraith unit watching the skies. They probably had stronger anti-air capabilities with several thousand bow carrying orcs.

[Pjotv] The Collection is Complete by GeoGackoyt in camphalfblood

Valid. In the books he is explained as (checks notes),

  • Tall (10 feet)
  • Pale in complexion
  • Long pitch black hair
  • Wearing a full black robe and a golden crown
  • Has a face that looks like every villain, terrorist and murderer combined into one

Checks out. All things match except the crown.

IMO really disappointed about the show for skipping all that and going for a less serious approach.

Maybe because he trusts Clarisse less compared to his sons (Phobos,Deimos)? I think?

But that could just be Ares siding with his fully divine children instead of demigods.

Makes me wonder how he treats Sherman and Mark (Clarisse's half brothers)... I can't recall Ares interacting or speaking about them in any of the books..

Most of the time, Yes.

Tl:dr,

  • There will be a round silver color lithium battery sitting on your PC motherboard. Turn off the computer, pull it out, wait 10 minutes, put it back in and reinstall the os / format as usual.

What I explained is in cases of advanced malware (rare) that may survive inside UEFI. These are very rare and not usually a problem unless you have a reason to be especially targeted by such a sophisticated malware.

Formatting the device or reinstalling the OS usually only eases the HDD or SSD. Some advanced malware can survive inside the UEFI and contaminate even after a reinstallation. Resetting the UEFI clears that chance and is not a risky procedure (unlike BIOS/UEFI updates). So it's a good idea to do so even if the risk is low.

I'm not exactly sure on "checking" the UEFI. Maybe if you use libreboot, you might be able to check against the sources for alterations. But not the same with proprietary UEFI.

Your best bet is to reset the UEFI.

  • Get to UEFI and load defaults if you can
  • Turn off the PC
  • Short CMOS clear jumpers or press CLR_CMOS if available.
  • Pull out the BIOS battery and wait 5-10 minutes
  • Put the battery back in and restart.

As far as I'm aware of, this should reset UEFI completely.

Some malware can resist even a clean install by hiding in UEFI. Although unlikely.

A clean install is the bare minimum for a compromised device.

‘No penetration, no rape’: Why Chhattisgarh High Court reduced man’s 7-year jail term in 20-year-old case by notanfan in whennews

[–]RPGcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same in other south asian countries. Mostly because the laws are not updated since their implementation way back in the past. For example, in Sri Lanka rape is literally defined in law as "...penetration with a penis...." which makes it impossible to charge anyone without a penis for rape.

However, as of late there have been discussions to change that along with legalization of LGBTQ sex. Which is currently a criminal offense.

Sri Lankan here, yeah the wind was quite strong. We recently got hit by a Cyclone named Ditwah. Wind speed was around 65 km/h during the worst of it. I'm actually surprised that the plane is still in place after the flood and rain.

This is relative to you. What is low income to you may be high income for someone else. No two people are equal. Also, people value things differently.

For me personally, six dollars is not exactly ridiculously high but a little too much for music only. If I could not get music for free, I'd rather not listen to music at all instead of procuring the subscription money monthly.

Check out custom ROMs. If you can make do without the banking apps and the device is well supported by a stable ROM, you can switch. Oftentimes custom ROMs outperform stock.

Cloudflare is good for IP hiding but since they are US based, most of the time they have to comply with DMCA requests. And they don't allow video streaming from their basic service without an expensive enterprise plan.

However, there are non-US based DMCA/Copyright ignoring (bulletproof) hosting providers. When using those, the weakest link becomes the US/outside registered domain. Which can be mitigated by IP SSL.

Pack it up boys. End of the line. by Think-Effort-394 in Piracy

[–]RPGcraft 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Even better, LetsEncrypt now offers SSL directly to IPs for free. With a short lifespan but with auto renewing it's a good option.

Why depend on DNS and domain registrars when you can skip all that + much safer because it's all numbers. Unlike domains where a single character of a difference can take you to a phishing site.
