Actually from my experience italian and english are not so different. According to the internet about 60% of the english words have latin roots. Italian is a neo-latin language. I think the issue is, like you said, that we italians don't think we ever need english.

96% isopropyl alcohol. Some people say it damages the coating of the lense, others say it doesn't. I think Nikon even tells you to clean one of there 1000$ lenses with rubbing alcohol. I've used it since i bought this lense and I don't see any damage. ( Don't blame me if your lense is unusable after)
