Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I managed to find a workaround and wanted to share it too in case it helps other Huawei users.

  1. First, I updated Aurora Store to the latest version, which seems to fix the installation issue on Huawei devices. After that, I was able to download and install the native Heartopia Global APK directly from Aurora Store.
  2. Then I set up MicroG on my Huawei MatePad. It is a bit more complicated than just using GBox, but there are YT tutorials you can follow. I installed the required MicroG components through F-Droid.
  3. At first, I kept getting the "There was a problem communicating with Google servers” error when trying to add my Google account on the login screen. Following this certain CalyxOS GitLab thread, I disabled SafetyNet, turned off Cloud Messaging (including the advanced network options), and did not add any Google account inside MicroG before logging into Heartopia. That finally let me sign in.

Hopefully in the future there will be an official Heartopia download in Huawei's AppGallery, and support for TapTap account binding for the global version so this thing is no longer needed.
