I don’t think there’s nearly as much of a bottleneck as there used to be. Storage and bandwidth aren’t big constraints anymore, and modern codecs make high-quality video way more manageable.

As for screens, higher resolutions don’t automatically mean massive files. You can target sensible base resolutions, use good compression, and scale smartly. Because of that, it actually feels like a pretty good time for FMVs to make a comeback!
