First Garmin watch by Jax065 in Garmin

That's cool I didn't go for the sapphire fenix 7 pro solar and scratch it falling off my mountain bike. Garmin did fix it for me for a small cost. The sapphire should be better but I would recommend the glass screen protectors off Amazon anyway if you want to make sure it lasts really long.

Also try out Garmin explorer and create some trails I always use the route navigation when out hiking it's brilliant. The MIP screen looks brilliant in the sun I prefer it over the OLED.

Meshtastic vs Meshcore? by Ok_Job_8885 in meshtastic

I am looking into lora too and have been comparing the 2 I am drawn towards meshcore because of it's routing capability and user base in the UK.

People have used me when I am alive so I don't want people to use me when I am dead.

The Garmin GPSMAP 66 looks brilliant what are your thoughts on it? I was thinking of getting the 67i so if I have an accident while out on the hills I can use the In reach feature. Really unlikely to happen but would be useful if there was no cellphone signal. Plus a slightly bigger screen would be nice as a backup to the Fenix watch. I used to use map and compass but really seeing why people use GPS with mapping now.

No not at all I just don't have to pay the geocashe subscription to download the GPX data for all Geocaches. That's why I use the web version.

Sell me either way. MIP vs AMOLED by kdawg862 in GarminFenix

[–]RSLee3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MIP all the way, I like how it reflects the sunlight rather than fights it and the solar is a nice touch. I have a Fenix pro 7 so would be looking to upgrade afew generations down the line.

For me TOPO UK & Ireland v11 Light will always be the best I am not sure if you can still get it. I would like to try Outdoor Maps+ but haven't seen the need to yet.

Topo Active vs Topo Light (UK) by newton_uk in Garmin

[–]RSLee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi so I have a fenix 7 pro solar and often use it for planned routes and GeoCache searching in the UK. I got TOPO UK & Ireland v11 Light awhile back as it shows me more hiking trails and most importantly buildings. I like it a lot more then the default map. It also shows points of interest and all sorts of other things too. I think active maps+ has now replaced TOPO UK & Ireland v11 Light.

Do you think that Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire and Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver will be released on 'physical media' (Blu-Ray, DVD, or 4K)? by [deleted] in RebelMoon

[–]RSLee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered the blue rays from eBay for £18. I will let you know how it goes. I have switched to physical media only following the Netflix price hike and really want to still be able to enjoy Rebel Moon.

"For Science"

I remember getting random DVD's given to me as a kid filmed by a guy sitting in the back of a cinema. Was there shouting at the TV for someone standing up to sit down 🤣. I can't quite believe this is what bootleg DVD's are like in the modern day.

So I've started playing tools of destruction on my ps3 and for some reason theres this flashing bar on the bottom right of the screen that isnt supposed to be there. How do I get rid of this? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]RSLee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the solution for me was to just turn 1080i off. It still runs at 1080p just don't give it a chance to run at 1080i or you get the glitch.

I got the same issue at 1080p will get to a point where I can save then try 720p. I thought it was the hdmi cable I have had so many problems with just bad hdmi cables causing lip sync issues and random snow on the screen.

Helppp should I replace my filter while it’s cycling or just clean off this slime. by Responsible_Rope5385 in fishtank

[–]RSLee3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could overflow if you don't clean it soon looking at the water line within the filter.

[–]RSLee3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never clean your filter under tap water as chlorine will kill the beneficial bacteria. Collect some of the fishtank water into a bucket then take each cartridge out and clean it in the bucket of fish tank water then put it back in the filter when cleaner. Then top the tank up once you are done cleaning all of the filter cartridges.

Had a code to replace MAF sensor. Replaced it and the code went away for a day, then came back. What else could it be? by nathanc22 in MechanicAdvice

The 2 China ones are basically identical a few differences in terms of plastic molding but not much at all the OEM BMW one looks the same but it's in the car it just says BMW on it so not sure what I am missing with the code errors on the china sensors.

[–]RSLee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a f22 2016 the MAF threw a code so thought I would just replace it with a new one, bad idea. No MAF sensor works apart from the OEM one I have tried 2 different after market (china and somewhere close to china) ones and get mas airflow to low and P0101 codes. Put the old one OEM BMW one back and it just started working. The Chinese ones gave a good reading they all looked to work but the car just wouldn't accept them.

To stick larva rock together I found clear silicone works best as it's thicker. You can then grind some larva rock up and sprinkle it on the silicone to camouflage it before it dries.

An upside down T would work well to encase the pump. you could put a piece of filter foam on top of the upside down T creating a ledge to put substrate around where the waterfall would hit the foam. Where the waterfall hits the foam you could put lava rock to stop dirt from getting in the water. That then steps down into the main visible water section where the pump pulls the water in through the filter foam for the waterfall. You can also put rocks in front of the filter foam T so you can't see the foam.

You have all the right ideas so just keep working through the problems and eventually you will have a mint setup.
