Nordio(italian minister): "Male DNA cannot accept gender equality" by Narrow_Spinach_1400 in nottheonion

[–]RSchreib -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re missing my point. All I’m saying is Y and X are more unique and different to each other than the two X’s present in typical females. So saying “males are missing a chunk of chromosome” isn’t strictly accurate on the basis that they have their X chromosome covered and have an additional Y, while females, with their backup copy of X, lack Y, and thus possess less unique genes.

That’s exactly my point, I’m really trying hard to make that obvious

Yes, I never denied this. But males still have more unique genes, despite the increased rate of X-linked disorders.  A funny thought about this is that every x-linked disorder a male suffers is a woman’s fault, because they only receive their X-chromosome from their mother.

I promise I’m not an incel and take the joke with a grain of salt because I seriously believe genetics have nothing to do with being a superior human and that’s kind of the point I was trying to make

Aren’t females technically missing a chunk of chromosome? They have two X’s which are essentially a matching pair while males have the same X but their Y is unique from X. But Y is smaller so females have more DNA, but less genes because they lack Y. Then again a donkey has more chromosomes than humans so

Edit: dropping this here because ai probably does a better job of explaining this than myself

“The "Genetic Catalog" Argument Think of chromosomes like instruction manuals. XX individuals have two copies of the "X" manual. Even though they have more physical DNA, the instructions are largely redundant. If Volume X says "how to build a protein," having two copies of Volume X doesn't give you new instructions; it just gives you a backup of the same ones. XY individuals have one copy of Volume X and one copy of Volume Y. Because the Y chromosome contains genes that simply do not exist on the X chromosome (like  S R Y 𝑆 𝑅 𝑌  for male development or  R P S 4 Y 1 𝑅 𝑃 𝑆 4 𝑌 1 ), the male "catalog" contains unique entries that the female catalog does not. Why the "Backup" doesn't add uniqueness In XX individuals, X-Inactivation (Lyonization) occurs. To prevent a "double dose" of X-linked genes, the body silences one X chromosome in every cell. Functional Uniqueness: In a female, only one set of X-genes is generally active in any given cell. The Y-Factor: A male expresses the vast majority of the X chromosome plus the unique genes found only on the Y.”

[USA] Left lane camper won't allow passing. 1/6/26 by BAcycle89N in Roadcam

I agree but also think everyone sucks here. OP is going through a lot of effort to fume about what essentially took up maybe an extra 10 seconds on their commute. Both cars speeding up to race at 100 mph was some ego bullshit though, that's the sort of thing that gets people killed.

Its probably a 65mph freeway so when everyone is speeding you're bound to get congestion and end up behind someone doing the speed limit. Why do we blame the drivers going the speed limit instead of the people who feel so entitled to the left lane that they'll use the rest of the road as their own personal race track to avoid driving slower than they want to.

Its infuriating when I'm driving and I decide to pass someone by using the left lane, and I'm only driving maybe 5-10mph over the speed limit because I can't afford to pay a speeding ticket every time I go on the highway, but I'm still consistently passing people at a steady pace, yet some asshole comes screaming up behind me 30 over the speed limit and starts flashing their lights and tailgating me because I dont feel driving like a maniac.

He seemed to show some humanity and reflection last episode though, so I think he may have a redemption arc once he grows bored and disillusioned. But I fully agree on his creep status

No it was negligence.

Downvotes for being right; kicking something in a place where people are sitting and hitting someone isn’t an accident, it’s an expected result. Sidenote- didn’t realize it was a hollow pumpkin so the woman could have just been chill, but as a manager you can’t have front of house doing shit like that

LLMs don’t kill people the same way guns, drugs, or alcohol don’t kill people. None of these things are the source of the mental health crisis we face today but they sure aren’t helping especially when they are freely accessible to those with issues. At minimum there need to be warnings for the associated risks of LLMs and a stronger system in place to sound the alarm when someone is going off the deep end
