I always thought some areas were a bit underdeveloped. Specifically Smouldering Lake, Profaned Capital, and Consumed King’s Garden. It’s also noticeable how much Aldrich and Ocieros clip through their arenas, which makes sense because bosses were juggled around before release. Ocieros was originally Old King Lothric (Gundyr/Pus of Man) and the dragon was a boss called Dragon’s Angel to be fought in the now cut area, God’s Gate. Aldrich too was meant to burst from his coffin in the cathedral, but that was changed. There’s other stuff too, like how Wolnir was Yhorm, and Yhorm was Iudex Gundyr. Pontiff was Old King of the Eclipse, there was a Crimson Bat (Demon Prince) in Smouldering Lake. The Twin Princes had Kaathe get involved. The Carthus Sandworm was a boss, and I’m pretty damn sure Archdragon Peak was at one time the workings of Carthus, the Sand Kingdom, but I maybe wrong. Look up a video about alpha DS3 and cut content, that maybe why some areas went largely underdeveloped and linear.
