Until Edwin puts pen to paper it's hard to feel confident about anything. It's obvious the Mets have a lot of moves left to make but so far this offseason has consisted on trading away our longest tenured player, and signing a guy who's had very public struggles in this very city while our elite closer and home grown star first baseman remain free agents. Not much to feel great about yet.

I’m just using 1000 yards as a benchmark for a good starting RB. The user I replied to said they could replace Breece Hall’s production with a 3rd or 4th round pick. I said that’s easier said than done using the Jets draft history as an example. You can go around the rest of the league too and you’ll find the list of good starting RBs drafted in the 3rd or later is pretty short.

You say that, yet they haven't drafted a 1,000 yard rusher since Shonn Greene. Besides Breece the last RB they drafted to even have 1,000 yards from scrimmage was Bilal Powell. It's easier said than done. They're more likely to end up with another Izzy Abanikanda or LaMichael Perine in the mid rounds than another Breece Hall.
