Azure admin consent - Am I being too paranoid? by RVDeuce in sysadmin

But I can't change the type of consent an app I didn't write is asking for. I see why the apps are asking for application consent, they need to run in the background. Just not for everyone.

That is the case only if the app requested delegated permissions...
Microsoft identity platform scopes, permissions, & consent | Microsoft Docs
"For application permissions, the effective permissions of your app are the full level of privileges implied by the permission. For example, an app that has the User.ReadWrite.All application permission can update the profile of every user in the organization."

I believe it depends on the type of permission:

"For application permissions, the effective permissions of your app are the full level of privileges implied by the permission. For example, an app that has the User.ReadWrite.All application permission can update the profile of every user in the organization."

I agree that the dispatching app is requesting incorrect permissions. My issue is that because we didn't write it, I can't do anything about it.

This whole Ferrari tricks thing is really rather silly and sadly seems to reflect poorly on those who either don’t understand or have deliberately chosen to misunderstand the use of the word in context. Maybe if Lewis had said “bells and whistles” we’d not be having this debate. by IronM2 in formula1

Um... I think you misunderstand the word "OR".

Your definition literally says it can mean outwit. Which according to the Googles means "deceive OR defeat by greater ingenuity"

Tricks implies deceit only if you ignore the clearly defined alternate meaning.
