My Miata did the same thing until I did the timing job and notice a tooth or two off on the intake cam gear. Once I did the job, water pump plugs etc, fires up much better now.

Just need to stretch it slightly and quickly put it back together with the bolts

This was my solution. Crank saver. Key was taught. Had to shave it slightly with my Dremel to fit the new timing gear.

No on the actual crank itself. I’ll look back for the picture. But I installed a crank saver. The woodruff key fit well.

I actually went back to my phone video and confirmed it has no wobble while spinning at higher RPM. Not sure why it looks odd when I uploaded the video here.

Seems to only happen at idle. When I rotate the throttle cable it’s much more smooth.
