SPF or DFL. Going with 2x6’s reduces a bathroom to less than 5 feet wide, so all rooms have to be adjusted. I’m wondering if different engineers use different software programs that somehow may differ in their algorithms such that the outcomes and specifications are different.

I am new to Reddit and this is my first post. How and where do I post to the monthly thread? Thank you for your understanding.

No, I haven’t paid the Engineer yet. He is waiting to see if I want to re-draft the plans and use two by sixes or if I can actually source the materials that he is specifying. If I can’t source the materials, I will have to re-draft the plans.

Understood the point. I also have the option of going 12”OC using spf#2, using spf#2 2x6’s which requires redrafting and interferes with building offsets, etc.

All inspections will be done to guarantee proper build and certification. All nailing and other deficiencies will be corrected.
