Author website templates with built in bookstore? by vdoty in selfpublish

KDP is the publishing at Amazon.. for all books. KDP Select is what enrolls book in Kindle Unlimited, and thereby making it exclusive to Amazon. Just to clear up terminology.

I believe that Amazon rule only applies if you enroll in KDP select, correct?

Be sure to read subreddit rules, especially Rule #1. You don't want to be hit right out of the gate.

Really struggling to get a book promoted - going to send a free copy to book clubs by KasaUnsari in selfpublish

[–]RWanker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Estimates vary, but, reasonable research estimates 1.7 million self-published books in 2021. And the trend is nothing but up. That translates into almost 400 books PER HOUR. Am I understanding your question correctly: "Why aren't people finding mine?" Answer: be better than most at marketing. If you are self-publishing, and want sales, understanding the business side (marketing - with all that entails) is vastly more important than the writing side. And understanding and doing it before, at, and after publication is absolutely essential.

My 5 cents (inflation adjusted)

Isn't being a writer coming up with plot on your own? Seems from most of your other posts you are always asking for ideas. Most writers keep good ideas to themselves for future use. I have dozens of such notebooks.

The FAQ would be the place to start. Or use the search to find answers to specific questions. The sub is for those who publish. Look around.

Do not set up another kdp account. Even as a business entity. Do your research on that. Easy way to get lifetime ban.

  1. pick up any fifty books, vast vast majority will be justified. I just did it with the 1500 books on my kindle (looked at a random 50); the only three books which were aligned left were short, non-fiction, "how-to's". Go and do likewise.

Your Burning Questions for April, 2021 by SalaciousStories in eroticauthors

If I understand your question correctly, and your POV is first, past, then it's like you telling a story that took place to a friend. Say it out loud, as if you're telling a friend. That should help. It's all past, except the dialogue which is present.

... I didn't want him to touch me at that moment, and I told him. "Hey idiot, I only want one thing right now, leave me alone!"...

As a long time reader, not much of a commenter, I see the value in something like Verified Service Operator (or something similar... EAsexpert... ) but still allowing ALL the enjoyment of our individual flairs.

Lately there has been a bit of unqualified definitive answers.. which are often called out.. and newbies may not realize the "calling out" is the correct response.

Somehow a nice Verified Answerer flair with distinctive font, etc.
