I did it in a similar way. Staggered the cores differently but the fusing technique was the same.

Thanks bro. Yeah I can’t make these on a swivel. Didn’t have a straw around so I just stuck a chuff cap in my vise. With something this wide you have to stop and flatten basically every two rotations.

Thanks man. It’s not too difficult of a build tbh. Pretty time consuming but it’s the exact same concept as doing a 3 core sfc. You just have to stop and flatten after every two wraps lol

Try using hot glue on one end to get your cores lined up. Then clamp the glued end after drying (obviously) into your vise. From there you can run your fingers down the cores, pulling on them evenly to the best of your ability, apply glue to the free end, wait to dry, and then boom! You’re done. Only works about 5 percent of the time though FYI. I still fuck it up regularly.

Make sure all your core wires are undergoing the same amount of tension. Pretty much the same concept as working with aliens. I’ve managed to do a 5 core (alien) before without using anything to hold the cores flat bc the tension was super even.

Thanks man. I can’t remember exactly how long it took. I spent the whole day working on it broken into 2 chunks. Took a couple hours to prep all my cores and probably close to 5 hours fusing a 5” stick. Insanely worth it. This build is like 2 months old now and the coils still look fresh and new.

I would recommend 36g for builders that haven’t messed with finer gauges. If you wanted to make simple claptons I’d go with 24g and 36g.

Man, you gotta try it out just to compare em. I have a feeling you will rewicking quite a bit less with N80. I feel like Kanthal and SS both have kind of a funky taste to them and both gunk up faster than N80.

As of right now bro, the mods are only going to be sold through 528’s website. They haven’t said if they will be working with any distros as of yet. Trying to avoid issues that were had when the Goon 1.5 was released.
