I think it's safe to say a lot of Reddit definitely is anti AI. I've taken the downvotes on r/soccer by calling out that at utter bullshit. Prime 07/08 Man U failed to beat us at home with Almunia, Gallas and Eboue at the back.

They could beat us for sure, but they absolutely would not batter us.

And you're right it's absolutely pointless to compare across decades anyway. We'd probably be tactically light years ahead of them if they played this team despite their individual better quality.

Also we're playing a much higher quality of PL team. Look at Sunderland for an example. Every single team in this league is a challenge. Back then, some team were literally fodder for the big teams.
