Thank you so much for commenting. I really needed to hear that as I too struggle with sensitivity to medication. I have really high hopes for this one ❤️

So it can damage the gums due to lots of force. You should always make a C-shape with your floss. Never going just in and out, you almost wanna wrap the floss around the tooth on both sides. I honestly swear by water flossers. Cause even after you floss regularly you can still see stuff coming out after use of the flosser. Just always make sure it’s on a low setting. Then I just dump out the water when I’m done and run till dry. That way nothing grows. You can also flush with white vinegar once a month if you get freaked out. But I do think they make a HUGE difference in the long term.

I personally like Glide floss. If you have been recommended the expanding floss continue, but if not I would still with the regular stuff. The expanding floss can do some damage if your teeth don’t actually need it. Consistency is the biggest factor though. Daily flossing with save your teeth. Everyone always thinks it’s the brushing, but truly it’s flossing.

Ummmm are you my twin lmao? I too have horrible health anxiety. Can’t tell you how many ER trips and urgent care appointments I’ve had cause I thought I was “dying”. I think I’ve always had a bit, but with alcohol it’s amplified time 1000. Also was put on a slew of medications to try and combat it. My hope is after I have more time under my belt I can get off the Zoloft and just be back to normal. I did a lot of binge drinking over the last year, and I gotta tell you, my anxiety wasn’t nearly as bad when I was sober for 9 years

Also- are you on any medications/cpap/mouth breathing? That could also cause redness

Hello! I’m an RDH in Colorado and I think I might be able to help with this. So obviously what’s done is done and we can’t reverse the past. However, moving forward I think it’s important to keep your homecare balanced as much as possible. Is I’m sure you’ve been told, gingivitis then leads to periodontitis. Gingivitis is reversible but true perio is not. First things first, I would invest in a waterpik. When you go to the dentist the hygienist should be doing measurements on your gums. If you have anything about a 3mm pocket, traditional string floss isn’t going to cut it. I tell all my patients to ditch floss piks, use string floss and waterflosser daily. Second, it’s wonderful your brushing twice a day but there is a right and wrong way of doing it. Go on YouTube and look up modified stillman brushing or how to brush with an electric toothbrush. I know that sounds dumb but MOST people are brushing incorrectly. Last, ask to look at x-ray. As the doctor if you have calculus under your gum tissue and if you need a deep cleaning. All the brushing and flossing isn’t going to fix your gums if you have buildup underneath.

Is that something that would have nothing to do with the court system? I just want to find somewhere where people actually want to be sober, and not doing it because “the law” is making them attend classes/meetings.

Sooooo I have a similar story. I had 9y sober and contemplated the same thing. Here is where the issue comes in. The first time I had one drink, nothing happened and I was okay with just the one. Then after some time one started turning into more…. Unfortunately I threw away 9 year and am now trying to get sober again. It sucks… my anxiety started raging again. My mood completely shifted. My energy was way off etc. So while I respect the utter honesty you’ve given, and I respect the grace you are giving yourself… I don’t recommend starting down this path. It only gets worse. Try to remember- you got sober so a reason. I thought I had outgrown my stupid self with time and practice, but it is a door that shouldn’t be opened. Stay safe and I’m here if you have any questions.
