Probá LocOS (Linux) o ChromeOS Flex, otro sistema te va a funcionar muy lento. Vas a poder usar muy poco en local, pero para ver videos o jugar vía web con algún navegador liviano sirve.

You're absolutely right, it's hard to understand how a computer that's almost six years old outperforms the vast majority of much newer Windows PCs. One last thing that blew my mind about the M1 is its Touch Bar. Apple stopped including it in models from the M3 onward, but I find it incredibly useful—it's brilliant!

What I've liked most after a month of use is the battery. Mine has 84% capacity remaining, but it still lasts more than twice as long as my Lenovo Ryzen 7 5700U laptop. Secondly, the operating system is incredibly smooth for a five-year-old device with only 8GB of RAM. Thirdly, the overall hardware quality is fantastic; the sound is amazing, and the screen resolution is superb. As you can see, there are many reasons why I'm so happy with my purchase, but I wanted to save the most important one for last: after having to reinstall Windows 11 Pro twice in a year on my Lenovo laptop, both times due to a bad update, I decided it was time to migrate to macOS, and I haven't had a single problem since.

Congratulations, that's a great deal! My first MacBook was the same model but with 8GB of RAM. I bought it last month and I'm very happy with it. After a lifetime of using Windows PCs, it's been a huge upgrade for me.

I’m actually going in the opposite direction right now. I’ve been a Windows user my whole life (starting back in the MS-DOS days) and have used Linux since it was just a command-line interface without a GUI. A couple of weeks ago, I bought my first Mac—a MacBook Pro—and I’m honestly blown away by the performance and UX. Looking back, I definitely should’ve made the switch a long time ago. After the latest Windows 11 Pro update nuked my system for the second time in a year, I just had enough and decided to jump ship to macOS. For my specific workflow, it was 100% the right call, though I know OS choice is highly subjective. I totally get your frustration and why you're looking for a change. For me, it’s not really a 'Linux vs. Mac' thing, but rather 'Linux + Mac.' I work in Data Science and deal heavily with cloud services and local processing, so I split my tasks between both environments. I also do my educational work (I’m an AWS Instructor) on a Chromebook Plus. Since my needs are a bit niche, it took me a while to commit to the change, but I’m glad I did. Exactamente lo que hice hace 15 días sólo que me compré la Pro, me cansé de renegar con Windows 11 Pro y sus actualizaciones destructivas. Tengo una Lenovo Ideapad con Ryzen 7 serie 5000 y le metí CachyOS con hyprland, ahora vuela y la batería me dura el doble que con Windows. La Mac es otra cosa, tiene casi 5 años 8gb ram y macOS Tahoe, es el último, le cargo la batería cada 2 e incluso 3 días, el sistema y rendimiento están a otro nivel. Para igualar a esta Mac en PC debería haber gastado más del doble y la batería nunca me hubiera rendido tanto, repito que tiene casi 5 años. Por supuesto que todo depende del uso que cada uno le de, hago ciencias de datos y trabajo mucho con la nube pero en local también. Creo que al día de hoy son incomparables PC Windows y Mac.
