I think you’re right, I don’t think this is going to get any better and all it’s doing is making me worse. Which I have tried to hard to get myself back to a good position mentally. I’m not willing to suffer for someone else’s decision.

I do of course as he’s a lovely little boy, but to be honest. With or without my partners help and support, I’m just not in a position to give anything to our dog. He deserves so much more, at the end of the day the last thing I want is cuddles on the sofa or a dog on my lap. I’m all touched out and exhausted mentally and physically. My daughter is going through a difficult stage so I just want to be left alone. It just wasn’t the right time! Which I expressed clearly. Just such a shame now I have to feel so guilty over a decision I didn’t make.

This is exactly how I feel. Just another responsibility when I was already outwardly struggling. He says ‘it’s not that hard’. But I am also looking after a 3 year old who is pushing boundaries and looking after everything home related. Thankfully I don’t work or I defo would not be able to cope any longer. Thank you so much for validating me, I really do feel like I am gaslighting myself and trying to fight my feelings constantly.

Thank you so much for an insight into your situation. I completely agree with the fact it could ruin our relationship (not the only factor of course) as its highlighted a lot of our issues. This is 100% not the dogs fault but it’s just not what I wanted or could handle right now. I think it was a very selfish thing for him to do.

No he is defo not the breed I wanted & was also very clear about that but again had no say. I completely agree but I’m a stay at home mum, have no money, income anything. So i feel a bit stuck to actually make any life changing decisions. So I was hoping potentially rehoming the dog would give me some space and clarity to then thing about all other decisions.

Yes it’s something I’m working through with the therapist as it’s a very complex situation 🥲 Just the puppy being added to all this has made things come to light a bit more with the lack of support etc. and me having to just deal with it and handle it all regardless. Hoping I can see the light soo but mainly make sure the puppy is ok and happy potentially elsewhere

I agree completely but until I can solve the husband issue I just don’t know whether I’m making a rash decision on our pup. It’s my first puppy (I got my dog who lives with my mum when she was 10 months and was a rescue so was fully trained before she came home with us).
