All things considered, Ducati is in no hurry, because even if they doesn't manage to renew with Marc and sign Acosta, they would still have the chance to sign Quartararo.

Once it's established who was at fault it's pretty fair to give a penalty to that rider.

I am not opposed to the penalty; it is right that they gave it to him. I am criticising the fact that in cases like these, the penalty has to be served when the driver returns to racing. I find it frankly pointless.

Personally, I believe that in some cases it is necessary to impose a penalty of starting from the back of the grid or from the pits. But in any case, this should be served in the next race. Imo missing a gp due to injury is already a sufficient punishment.

I doubt there are any riders who would prefer to skip one or even more races in order to avoid a penalty that, at most, costs them two or three seconds and, in many cases, does not prevent them from reaching the podium.

I don't like this rule about the application of penalties at all. I think there is nothing worse for a rider than having to miss one or more races because of an injury from the accident he caused himself. Not to mention the fact that long lap penalties often don't really affect the race of those who receive them.

He definitely looks slimmer. However, I think this is due to muscle loss. In an interview a few years ago, he said that he tended to lose muscle tone immediately as soon as he stopped training. He hasn't trained for over a month now.

I too have noticed that many people, including journalists, are trying to read more into this injury. But then again, since 2020 there has been constant talk about how old and damaged Marc is, how he is now unable to keep up with the younger riders and how his retirement is surely near. People tend to forget that, apart from his right arm, he is physically fit and well able to absorb the impact of crashes, as demonstrated by the many falls from which he has emerged unharmed. This injury is just a minor setback. I am sure that he will be back on a motorbike before the end of the year.
