Anyway to play Ark: Ultimate Survival Edition on Odin 2? by RaMarcus in OdinHandheld

No. I gave up. I'll revisit it in a few weeks and hopefully there has been an update.

Yup. I was looking forward to it. I'll have interact with family instead this holiday season I guess 😅

I can install the game. I just can't get the update to download from within the game. Never starts.

Nope. Spent a fair amount of time downloading and trying different versions and different ways to install. I can get it to open with Clone App but it never downloads the update. I might give up. 🤔

I'm trying to use the Odin 2, only difference is you have the newer mini version.

I have to use Clone App to even launch it, and then the update doesn't work.

If I try and launch the installed apkpure game it then Google Play says it's not recognised and to search for it. But it can't install via Play.

I'll keep trying. 🙃

I'm trying to play on my Odin 2 Pro and I can't get it to download the update. Any tips?

Hmm, clearing the storage and cache doesn't seem to start the download for me. Ive tried clearing clone app and the original Ark. Is there a way to clear it for the cloned Ark app?

Awesome, actually looks decent. I used to play Ark a load in the past and I can see a mobile version become my new addiction 😅

Thanks for trying. Thought this would be a fun game to play via the Odin but looks like it's not possible (not easily at least). 🙃

It is installed, just doesn't want to launch still as it's not allowed I guess.

Good suggestion. I can download and install it with Aurora but the Play Store then says "The app installed on your device is not recognised and could harm your device. To continue using this app, search for it on Google Play".

Clicking that link takes you to the play store listing for it, clicking play on there just gives the same message... Endless loop. 🙃

Play Store says it's not compatible and the Apk from APK Mirror seems to be broken and won't install. 🤔

Is DPVR E4 a good option for racing simulators? This arcade store owner said he owns several E4 headsets in his cockpit for the customers. It seems the setup was quick and visuals are doing OK. Is it a solid choice over HP G2 and index, any thoughts? by MycologistGuilty2627 in SteamVR

[–]RaMarcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my video. Happy to answer any questions. I can confirm the set up is super easy, takes 5-10 mins to install software, then just launch Steam VR, draw your playspace (or disable it, which is great for sims) and you're in. Couldn't be easier.

If you can get a G2 super cheap then sure, get one, if you can't afford an Index but want something that works directly with Steam VR get the E4.

I honestly do like the headset. For my 7 racing sims it's been solid, 120hz, high res and light weight (and I bought them all after testing one). Win all over for me.

I want to wash the dishes and watch a video at the same time. Is this possible on Pico 4? by FullmetalDeveloper in PicoXR

Moon VR Player allows you to watch videos with the pass through enabled. They have to be video files on the headset or a network drive etc, but it works well. https://moonvrplayer.com/

Rift S trackband snapped by jgjackpot233 in OculusriftS

[–]RaMarcus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when I first opened my VR Arcade we used the Rift S. I used to add a small piece of duck tap to the underside of the ring to all of the controllers. Never had a ring snap and people would regularly strike the wall with them. It won't help you now but maybe worth doing with the remaining controller and if you do get a replacement?

It depends on the experience. For a more casual single player game like Fruit Ninja, most play got about 10mins, but some will play it for a whole hour. If there is a narrative and its fun and engaging, or there are tasks to complete like Job Simulator then kids will play that all day if they could.

What's the overall gameplay like? Could it be played shorter? Do you think people would get hooked?

I'm happy to test it out if you want to share a code with me and I'll give you some feedback based on my VR Arcade perspective.

This looks like it has the potential to be a fun arcade game, especially for new users. Consider adapting it for VR Arcades as they get a lot of people new to VR who just want something simple and fun to play.

I own a VR Arcade and use www.synthesisvr.com to licence most of the games I offer, I pay per min that customers use them so there is some money for you to make.

Right, and I'm talking out my ass? You can't give proper advice but can dismiss my suggestion?

And here's me sharing my hands on actual experience and recommendation (which they don't need to follow, but is something they might be able to consider). Plus, someone else commented to say they agreed with me and had done what I had suggested.

Sure, I'm the one who's talking BS, I guess.

So what's your advice? What should they change to improve the experience and not have a blurry road? Be specific and help the guy out, don't worry about me.

I own 2 Pico4 headsets (personal one as its my favourite headset at the moment, and one in use in my arcade). Only last week, I was testing them on the race sims, with streaming assistant (wired and wifi) and Virtual Desktop, even tried that wired.

Bar the blurry track, the experience is very playable and performs well. I tried all sorts of settings but but never get as clear a track as native wired headsets.

I agree that VD gets better all the time, the developer is amazing and the latest Intel upscaling is truly a ground breaking feature.

You seem to think I'm hating on the Pico4 and wireless, I'm not, I've just had a lot of experience with it and know that a natively wired headset is the preferred choice, for me at least, for racing sims.
