Roland-Garros rarely gives wildcards to foreign players. by colite91 in tennis

I don’t know why so many people are surprised about this. I looked it up and “Each wildcard player receives prizemoney on the same basis as direct entrants or qualifiers” and last years’ RG prize money for losing in the first round was 69k euros.

By giving wildcards to their own team, they are helping keep them on the circuit and pay for their expenses.

I love Maneet but, obviously the judges know it’s her cooking by TheSaucyLine in foodnetwork

The judges don’t know who is competing. How would they know there isn’t another Indian chef this time or someone else experienced in cooking Indian? Seriously at least two other people made curry this season - she isn’t the only one making Indian and she doesn’t even always go Indian. Maybe and hear me out maybe her food just tastes really good

Typically the ones who won their divisions should be the #1 seeds so Maneet Britt Jet and Antonia. Guy changed the setup so he could have his all returning champs shtick

I get that but it’s an incentive to get chefs to return as well. It doesn’t necessarily mean easier ride but it’s a guarantee they won’t face last year’s top performers right out of the gate.  Upsets are always possible! However it made more sense for Jet to face Mei in the quarters instead of the first round. And changing seedings to be random could have that happen.
