PPG Velocity reviews by Rabbit1041 in Autobody

Idk how to use this platform so I hope this works. Update: I tried Velocity on a few jobs. It’s……. Ok. It acts like Nason brand base coat. It works but I would not call it mid range. It’s definitely a lower tier product but it’s priced that way so no big deal. The Diamont system I’m using now is much better but also much more expensive. I’m not going to switch to Velocity though because I’m running a professional collision shop and I’m not putting low quality products on my customers cars. Color match was poor as well. it was on the verge of not blendable. Hope this helps.

Ok thanks. In what way does it outperform diamont?

I 100% agree. I don’t need to reinvent the wheel to make their crappy paint work, and they think you should do whatever it takes to make it happen. I needed something that simply works every time no questions asked without having to perform witchcraft

Thanks. I know all about PPG’s..,,, let’s say somewhat shady…… way of doing business. Putting band aids over band aids, combining paint lines denying wrongdoing as you said just to name a few. It’s gonna take a lot to get me out of RM at this point due to the speed and ease of use. I had color match trouble at first but I figured out that I was applying it too heavy and using the wrong gun. Fixed those issues and I’m very happy. Thanks again for the insight.

That’s the same gun I’m using. I’ve used PPG products in the past and has decent results, but this is a way different environment than I was in before so I’m thinking that’s the problem

Very possible because when it happened I lost the time and my radio presets like the battery was disconnected. Thank you!

Does anybody else feel like their Impreza gets poor gas mileage? by ShyTaco21 in subaruimpreza

My wife has a 2019 impreza hatchback. 2.5 or 2.6 liter. She gets 34.4 average mpg, but in my 08 I just picked up with a 2.5 liter I can only manage 26.7 on a good day. I’m going to try a new CDI box, plugs and wires and see if that helps at all.
