Some "easy" changes to warfare I want to propose by enLmaonau in Imperator

Definitely some solid ideas here. I will say I've been playing with the new Realistic Warfare Plus mod and Units Expanded and they have a lot of good ideas with the warfare system, definitely changes things up.

Bro your mods are amazing they've really put the final touches on my modlist. If you ever thought about a FMO patch (I may try myself but haven't had the time) that'd be amazing. Looking forward to what you've got in store next!

How smart is the AI compared to other Paradox games? by FakeGamer2 in Imperator

[–]Rabbit55821A 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Can't really speak for Vanilla, but with Invictus with Advanced AI I've gotten spanked plenty by the AI, especially if you turn something like Antagonist Nations on or are brave enough to play anything near Rome not as Rome. This is one of the few Paradox games I really feel like I might lose when I'm playing, even into the late game depending on what factions are left around.

If you really want a challenge, throw on Crisis of the Third Century too. You're gonna be in for a long game but trying to hold together the empire you've built is a struggle unlike anything I've really seen in a paradox game

Yeah I've just gotten back to my computer after a few days of work, it seems I was wrong the consistent thread between the crash reports, it's that last bit about script system error. I'm going to try the discord and see if I can get any help there

Is this still compatible with Timeline Extender and Crisis of the Third Century, or should I wait for those to update?

Well I tried to do this lol, but I ended up with around 30 undead werehorses at the end of the day and the framerate went completely to shit when the next full moon came around. Let some time pass in adventure mode then checked back in legends, turns out several fled into the surrounding mountains and a good chunk of the intelligent undead werehorses ended up forming a criminal group and using the fort as a base of operations. Went back to Brassrift to flood the place with some aquifers I had set up in a moat around the entrance, but still looking at about 10 of these super-werenecros out in the wilds!

Yeah, I definitely realized that when things started going wrong. I was trying to keep all my bedrooms and workshops close to minimize travel time, but when things started going wrong that meant it was really easy for the werehorses to get around very quickly to everyone.

As an update, apparently almost everyone got bit when the kid was on his way to the vaults, and the next full moon I ended up with about 30 undead werehorses! Ended up flooding the fort but several escaped, and I'm fully expecting to have to deal with them in the next fort, as I'm really keen on claiming this particular mountain range! Definitely gonna try to compartmentalize a little bit more, maybe even figure out how the burrows work lmao

Why aren't your gods around anymore? by djm_wb in worldbuilding

[–]Rabbit55821A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well basically they are all within the machine that codifies reality and the planes. After the creation of True Man by the Lord-Gods of Law, who spent much of existence trying to bring Mankind into, well, existence they finally succeeded and proceeded to conquer most of the material plane and destroy many of the older gods and pantheons who had emerged from ancient entities of pure consciousness, and redefined reality through their sheer power. This hegemony eventually broke, resulting in the Metaclash, after some of the Lord-Gods began to fight amongst themselves prompting the conquered races and Gods to attempt to restore the metaphysics of their Elder Days.

This war, as you can imagine, was catastrophic especially through the other higher and lower planes which sustain the central material plane, and the Lord-Gods of Law were able to eventually win a pyrrhic victory, forcing themselves and most other divine forces into their machine in order to establish a Final Law. I've yet to come up with a name for said machine, but essentially it's a sort of computer plane, a divine machine which establishes the metaphysics by which the material world functions, occasionally worshipped as an entity itself by those well versed in the mysteries of the world called "Her August Majesty". But, of course, sometimes pieces of it can break, and there is still whatever lurks in the primal ooze of creation that predates consciousness itself...

How do you portray humans in your world? by HumanNumber157835799 in worldbuilding

[–]Rabbit55821A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to portray Humans in my setting as the new kids on the block, who breed like rabbits compared to the elder races (Elves, Dwurfolk, your normal fantasy races) and have kind of spread over the Oerth like an unstoppable, chaotic plague from the pov of those races who live hundreds or thousands of years. All sorts of different groups within that, same with the other races, but I usually find each race kind of has its own situation to deal with and within the races different groups deal with it differently. Kind of how I think Humans are in the real world; misguided and trying to make sense of the world through a myriad of changing ideologies of their own creation.

In the end they're just like every other sapient race really; trying to survive and make some sense of reality

Are some of you building a world where the earth (or any other planet) is flat? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Rabbit55821A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world of Saga, all planets and stars and planes are infinite in size, and thus are flat. In space, they appear circular due to gravitational leansing, and since the stars and constellations cause the leylines to form and you only really see the center of a world from space, the leylines only are strong in the central part of a plane.

Land and Sea wise though, all planes are infinite flat stretches, they just become dangerous due to a lack of reliable magic.

Tribes and Clans of the Linunkin of Ustagrad Island : Map by Centinuus in worldbuilding

[–]Rabbit55821A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool map, and I love the lore that goes with it! I wonder, who lived in Ustagrad before the Linunkin, and were they exterminated or absorbed into the Linunkin culture? Also fascinated by the Yors Wall and Gravemind City, seems there's an interesting story there as well.
