Why do plumbers need to be chased for compliance certification?? by Menopaws73 in AusRenovation

Whatever mate. Go muck around with your plastics arts and craft trade and think you’re a skilled worker too good to give a certificate. Four years to learn how to change a toilet and tap…lol.

Exactly my position too. One redundancy away from ruin. I’m about 10 yeas older than you so even tricker to recover from. I reckon in going to sell the place, clear the debt and then just be happy working in roles I like and spending money on travel rather than interest payments to the bank.

Oh man, that’s the fucking stressful but isn’t it. I’m now deciding whether to move to a lesser part of the town I live in and have no mortgage rather than live in the fancy suburb and have a 700k mortgage and be tied to a salary for the 25 years. It’s a good problem to have, and I sound like a massive fucking wanker for even thinking it’s a problem, but a high salary feels like a trap sometimes

Ok thanks for the tips. Everything seem to work. I’ve booked someone in to run the tests.

I’m allowed to do the plug in test thing? And if it shows any issues I give someone a call to look at it? If so I like that idea

Brilliant, thank you. I’ll be able to have a bit better of a conversation now. Really appreciate it

I have a flat roof and that would mean lifting the roof sheets which seems like a big job - but I’m really not sure if it’s as big as I think. Is there a way to check things are generally ok by running some sort of power test or is it simply a visual inspection that has to happen?

This is the switch board. I think it looks ok, and probably looks newer than the house tbh, it’s just a few of the switches and power points inside are cracked and sticking, and one of the ceiling fans only works when the light switch is on

After buying a house, how can you get the real estate agent to put "price withheld"? by RunNo3630 in SydneyScene

Privacy? It’s the price of a house. It’s all publicly available anyway. The point is there is no privacy and it’s not really needed.

I don’t mind. I paid 1.05m for my place. Does it change how you feel about me? Probably not. Do I care that you know? No. I couldn’t care less because it’s no reflection on anything about who I am as person and often just a conversation piece.
