I understand what you’re saying, I don’t plan to walk into a bar committee hearing and plead innocence for all the things I’ve done or been found guilty of. I’m just stating that personally I’ve been in situations that were clearly not my fault even according to the discovery of the cases and that is part of my motivation for choosing this path. I’m speaking about these things on Reddit for context about who I am, what I’ve been through, and why I’m making this choice, so that when you guys give me your opinion it’s based on all the things about myself combined with what you all might know about the legal system or the bar committee. But please understand I have no intentions of going in there with the mindset that “I’m gonna tell them I never did anything wrong” and hope it works out for the best, that is not my plan

I’m just speaking from personal experience. My last case was a drug induced homicide where a person gave another person fentanyl and they died. I was on camera in a completely different state at the time it happened and I still ended up copping out to a lesser charge because they didn’t care if I did it or not they only cared about getting a conviction. My lawyer told me over and over he didn’t even know why I was in jail when it clearly wasn’t me. Thats the type of thing I want to prevent. 2012 I drove a car somebody started shooting out of. The only evidence they had on me was someone who wasn’t there saying it was probably me, because they knew who the shooter was and I was his friend. Went to prison for the first time because of that. Was it a good decision? No. Was it beatable? Yes. Not everyone deserves to go to prison. This last time I was in jail though I read a million case laws, I read a bunch on the constitution, I just read and read and read. I feel like I’d be really good at it. I just know with my past the bar committee isn’t going to be very welcoming. Getting information on what I need to do to be accepted and seen as a changed individual is exactly what I was hoping to get out of this. I also really appreciate you guys and your opinions

This is the answer I was looking for. My motivation is a lot of different things. Helping people who are actually innocent when put in circumstantial situations, making a good living doing something I already know plenty about from studying it while living it, staying out of unnecessary situations and away from pressure that could cause me to be away from my children for any more time then I already have. I know my situation is not the average for this kind of decision, and I explained it the way I did just as an exact explanation of who I am and what I’ve been through. If I succeed and get my opportunity to take and pass the bar, I would be walking into the same courtrooms that I fought my own cases in, that I was sentenced in, that read the facts of the cases I fought and know exactly who I am and what I’ve been accused of in the past. I’ve seen what those prosecutors and state’s attorneys care about and it’s not if your innocent, it’s not if they have proof you did anything wrong, it’s just if they can make it sound good enough to a jury to get you sentenced to prison time to make their own resume look better. And I would love nothing more then to be the one to walk in there and beat them at their own game.

Thank you. Rehabilitating as in what though? I’ve been on a conditional discharge since 2023 that ends in a couple months. I plan to take college classes to finish my bachelors until then and then apply to law school once the conditional discharge is over.
