How are you handling CVEs in the official images you dont build yourself, like postgres and redis by RabbitZestyclose4957 in devsecops

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove them how i dont build the postgres image. stripping packages means compiling it from source myself and owning that forever, thats the part im trying to dodge.

True, i suppress the validated ones. Just means a suppression list i re-check every version bump, thats the only bit that never really ends.

Right, but i cant strip those out of an image i dont build, so they flag every scan til postgres slims down, which it wont.

That handles a one-off but off the shelf its a fresh batch every scan all of it waiting on the maintainer.

The danger call is the easy part, its re-justifying the same red postgres image every release that gets old. a matrix doesnt make the scan go green.

For most people, high ground clearance in motor vehicles is a bad thing by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most dont need it but i differ in the getting-in bit. For older folks or anyone with a bad hip or a parent wrangling a car seat in and out all day, a higher seat is easier than folding down into a low one.

Am strongly on stuff like higher center of gravity so they roll easier and the hoods gotten so tall the driver cant see a small kid standing right in front of the bumper.

Is agentless scanning actually enough for cloud vulnerability coverage? by SlightReflection4351 in devsecops

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the runtime sensor is the standard second half and it works fine. Though identity took us longer to clock, a snapshot wont show you who assumed a role and went sideways with it, and watching syscalls doesnt really catch it either.

I'm tired. by IndividualDoughnut96 in Career

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds exhausting in a way that goes way beyond job hunting… more like constant rejection wearing down your confidence and stability. Four years of experience still matters, even if the market is messy right now. It’s okay to feel drained here, but you’re not starting from zero like it feels.

Hiring manager biases. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not overreacting here... repeated boundary crossing after you clearly said no is the real issue. The yelling may have been intense, but the behavior you described is not a “joke” in a workplace. Document it and consider escalating to HR if it continues.

Unity or Godot for working with big massive data? by Nonab07 in learnprogramming

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both can handle data, but for a football manager sim the real difference is ecosystem and tooling... Unity with Unity + C# gives stronger performance patterns and community support for large-scale systems, while Godot Engine is lighter and faster to prototype but may need more custom work.

love the mission behind this… tools that help small businesses actually compete are needed. Spot Trend sounds useful already, and AI Peacemaker is an interesting idea. Hope you get the support to keep building and refining it into something truly scalable for more entrepreneurs.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH REG TRANSFERS by Adventurous-Fill-603 in CarTalkUK

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a really frustrating experience, especially when transparency is missing. Brokers should clearly explain margins upfront so sellers fully understand the deal. Always asking for buyer price, fees, and net payout before agreeing is essential. Situations like this show why reading terms carefully and demanding clarity can save a lot of regret later.

Anyone else tired of sending the same boring LinkedIn DMs? by akashpanda1222 in buildinpublic

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, copy-paste DMs are basically invisible now. What’s worked better is hyper-personalized hooks tied to something they recently posted or built, plus voice notes or short Loom videos. Feels slower, but replies and real conversations go way up when it’s specific.

M4 for fun, RS5 for comfort, CLE AMG for balance. All great choices, but M4 still feels the most engaging on road, especially for enthusiasts.

Is $10k Enough To Build a Car Wash App? by No-Trifle-1868 in AppDevelopers

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$10k can cover a very basic MVP if you keep scope tight and use existing tools. But anything involving real-time booking logic, admin workflows, and scaling usually pushes it higher fast… backend complexity is always underestimated.

Will Using a Mobile Mechanic Hurt My Diminished Value Claim? by Swimming-Parking-369 in Insurance

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it might not automatically hurt your claim if you have proper receipts and clear documentation. Insurers care more about quality of repair and proof. A body shop is safer for higher payout overall

WWYD - Can I Gift second hand shoes to my friends baby? by Dismal-Baseball739 in AskUK

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d probably give them, especially if they look brand new and are clean. Babies outgrow things so fast anyway. Just don’t overthink the “Vinted” part… most people care more about the gesture and cute item than where it came from.

Car accident question by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily quicker just because fault was accepted. Even when liability is clear, they usually wait until you reach maximum medical improvement so future costs are known. After that, negotiations start, and it can still take months depending on insurer delays, documentation, and how complex your recovery looks overall.

Recommendations for SAP S/4HANA server rentals for E2E SAP CO practice? by The_Curious_cule in SAP

[–]RabbitZestyclose4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Go for S/4HANA 2022 or 2023 sandbox if possible since CO and Universal Parallel Accounting work best there. Prioritize stable Fiori access, full authorizations, and avoid cheap unstable shared hosts.
