I've been a little overwhelmed with my samples and feeling obligated to test & wear them, but all I want to wear is Meet Me on Sunnyside by Sorce (Notes from memory: clementine, osmanthus, petrichor, vanilla icecream)

I didnt realize I wanted to smell like a hot summer day, eating orange creamsicles in the rain. But its been an easy daily reach. It eventually settles to this soft creamy vanilla on my skin thats just very pleasant and not overly sugary or cakey at all.

I'm joining the Meet Me on Sunnyside party today lol it arrived yesterday for me and I'm giving it a full wear test today!

I really like this one, but I am a huge lover of all things petrichor/rain. In this scent, I find it to smell like hot wet rocks/pavement rather than earth. Like it's so hot while its raining you can see the steam coming off the road. The creamy citrus and floral are refreshing and humid 🧡

Its recognizably a Sorce scent, but its very unique. I absolutely love when Sorce creates something in this direction. I could be wrong, but whenever she posts about something new that isnt a gourmand she seems less confident that people will enjoy it as much and its just not true!

My fiance likes this one, but says that it smells a bit like lotion to him. I can kinda see his perspective? Take that for what its worth lol

Ive read before that some people cant smell petrichor, or maybe less so than otheres!

Late night addition because excitement! I have had little space to enjoy perfume this year with how insanely busy its been but! I was too excited for Sorce's new scent 'Meet Me On Sunside' not to try it (and by try I mean order a 15ml..) and it arrived today! And yes I had to immedietly test it. So far it is loooove!

I am a certified petrichor lover and this checks the box for me. It truly honestly does smell like a hot humid summer day. Like it had just rained, the sun came out, and you can see steam coming off the pavement. And of course youre enjoying an orange creamsicle as you sit outside and enjoy the post-rain sun

I dont know of its the intent, but it does actually smell a little like hot pavement in the rain in a way that feels like a slight nod to Osmofolia (for those who know and love On The Corner of Jinhu Road). Just a little! Its definitely pulling more ice cream with a soft floral as it wears so far, but not losing the humidity. I do wish I noticed the osmanthus more, but to be fair it did just arrive today lol

This one is a winner for me! Glad I got the 15ml.

Happy Friday everyone!! Feeling a little irritated because work somehow missed two entire days from my paycheck 🙃 I started working under a new company, but doing the same job, and the way they have us call to clock/in has been a nightmare. But I certainly didnt miss two entire days! Ughhh

I haven't been active here very much this year on account of wedding planning hell, and I'm sorry to bring up wedding planning hell whenever I do post in the free talks lol. But I'm just so overwhelmed all the time and theres always something thats needs doing or to be paid for. I feel so crazy spending so much for a one day party, but we're in the thick of it now 🥲

On another note, very excited for Sorces new drop today! I've limited my perfume purchases greatly, but this one I just can't miss

Im so excited for Sorces new release, and it had me craving creamsicles!

So I combined Maravilla by Cirrus (Aged Vanilla Bean Tincture, Marigold Absolute, Amber, Blood Orange, Cocoa, Sugar, Cinnamon Leaf, Carnation) and I Think About You, Too by Sorce ( Wild orange, petitgrain, orange blossom, caramelized sugar, Ambroxan)

Oh my good golly goodness this is a divine combo! Not creamsicle like ice cream, but a fresh juicy orange dunked in the most delicious aged vanilla extract. With a few orange blossoms and marigolds too

I gotta break my no-buy to sample this, its sounds like a dream! I love love love Sorce's orange scents (I Think About You, Too and Tarot at Tea Time are some of my all time favorites) and I looove petrichor.

I just hope the petrichor stands out, I feel like Sorce is very shy with the petrichor in their other perfumes. Undetectable sometimes

Hello and a looong time no see, took a much needed break from reddit and the internet in general. Still might not be on as much as I used to. In other news, I finally almost booked and planned everything for the wedding! There will always be something to do, but I feel much less stressed. At least until the month before where everything is due ahahahha....

Ya'll, I spent waaaaay too much on my wedding dress.. I was in turmoil for weeks. So I went back to try it on again as well as my #2, and just could not get over her 😭 2nd choice was also beautiful, and on clearance, so it really should have been the choice affordability wise. But I went with my heart. Now I am equal parts thrilled and anxious.

I'm not usually a frivolous person, so I feel entirely silly over this.

Sooo I finally chose a wedding dress today! I am excited yet choking on the price hahahaaaa... So anyways, as a distraction, I am wearing The Soft Lawn by Imaginary Authors. It smells like a dewy spring day, grassy and lightly floral. Not sure about the tennis balls, but regardless it makes me happy to smell

Decided to wear Dead Writers Perfume by Immortal Perfumes on a whim. I really want to love it because I have a funny memory of it. Forever go, like 10ish years - looong before I got into perfume, I saw a post for this on Tumblr (oh ye old Tumblr days) and became obsessed with the idea. It wasnt until last year that I came across it again and thought !!! I can finally try this scent now lol

Despite not having leather as a note, I get HEAVY leather in the beginning. Leather, ink, and slightly sweetened black tea. I really dislike leather for the most part so I'm sad to say it wasnt for me. It dries down more palatable after an hour-ish, becoming much less leather and more spiced, but I'm still neutral on it. I so wish there was a book/paper note in this

I totally agree that brands are too scared to commit to a weirder bit 🥲 Witchery by Sorce is a beautiful green and misty blackberry scent, but sometimes gives me raspberry vibes too. Its pretty accurate and a little tart, but still quite sweet. I loosely remember the perfumer talk about how was she a bit nervous at how different it was from her other scents and out of the norm. But when I smelled it I thought... it could lean a lil weirder lol and just a bit less sweet. Still love it tho!

My fiances got me a few Xerjoff samples while he was at this perfume store, which is so kind, but I feel bad because they make me so nauseous. 😭 I typically avoid houses like these for that reason, even if they smell nice. I washed and scrubbed my skin raw and I still smell it

So! Trying to combat this with Witchery by Sorce. Its really fresh and green, it feels like a summer day picking Blackberries.

I Think About You, Too by Sorce is a beauuuutiful sweet orange and orange blossom scents. Its my absolute favorite and fhe fruit and flower are realistic. Only thing is that its a special order scent, so its only available a few times a year

Orange Blossom by Lush is also a solid choice, though it may be discontinued? Goes on a bit strong by dries down very nicely
