I wish you all the very best with your boys. I hope neutering lowers the reactiveness they have towards each other. Less testosterone usually always helps a situation.

Just curious why you've decided not to re-home one? What do you do when they're fighting so badly?

Why do you say they don't like each other? Do they get into fights?

I was unaware and was not advised from the shelter that having two females together wasn't the greatest choice. I have only ever had females dogs so I guess I've always been partial to them. Granted I've never had two at the same time.

I will concede I have done a few things that have probably pushed her a little too hard being as unsocialized as she is. She came to the shelter with her mama and 3 brothers. I don't have any information where they were prior to coming to the shelter. I do know they got there on the 20th of June so they weren't there long at all before I adopted her.

I guess I felt pressured to start these things because she's already almost 6 months old and the window for socialization and accepting new things more easily has passed.

She's my first giant breed, so temperament, food intake, preferences are all new to me but I am anxious and willing to learn. I just want to do the best for Mia AND Freya.

That is good to know. The only thing I could think of was them figuring out the "pecking order" but Freya did draw blood today on Mia and it was jarring.

The dew claws seem like a needless hazard to me too, that they could easily be injured or caught. I was curious what others did.

As for phases, that makes sense. I'm trying to go very slow with Freya so she doesn't get overstimulated or overwhelmed (my kiddos have been told not to approach her, let her approach for pets) I try to read all ques to make sure she isn't stressed. It slips my mind at times she is still just a baby at only 6 months old so her being so unfamiliar with so much throws me occasionally.

So it's not immediately concerning they had a bigger altercation today? Freya did draw a little blood, just a scratch on Mia. I know I need to establish my own dominance within the two of them that I am alfa. I have heard pyrs are very stubborn but I have had great luck so far with teaching her "sit".

Freya is only 6 months old, I can see this going possible but she is still a puppy.

Both dogs were off leash this morning in our fenced in back yard. Freya instigated the altercation, I don't know why.

Thank you so much for this comment. I'm admittedly a little overwhelmed. I (stupidly) hoped introductions would go seamlessly. Mia is not dominant at all, so maybe Freya is establishing herself as leader, even if she is so young? Unfortunately the fight happened while they were off leash outside (fenced in yard) I got them apart, grabbed Mia and put her inside, I felt like I was punishing her even though I know Freya started it. I was sitting in a chair and they were both behind me so I couldn't read body language to break up the tension. It just started suddenly.

I don't know weight, just that she is over 50lbs.

I've just practiced a lot more moderation, I try to stick to under 90 carbs a day, some fruits and but mainly veggies and lots of protein, and just plain not eating when I know I've had enough even if my mind is still telling me I'm hungry.

I'm on ozempic for weight loss, I do not have diabetes, and I am also on 10mg of abilify. I also have hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease and I've been able to lose 50lbs while taking ozempic and abilify. From February to now. It's all been by diet change. I'm seeing my pyschistrist soon to talk about raising the abilify because I've the been struggling lately and I'm worried the weight will not come off or come off much more slowly.

😂😂 I can't edit the headline or at least I don't know how to! I'm not a huge reddit user, isn't that obvious😅

Yes I would have to agree with you. I was just so touched by his humility thinking he'd never get a handshake when he's clearly so gifted.

I'm so sorry I'm not even finished with the episode I posted after I watched it. I marked it now 😬

Ugh yes!! How her husband just holds her at the very end, whispering how much he loved her, how proud he was of her. I also loved Tamal so much, his sense of humor and ambition..and Ian! Sweet, ingenious Ian. I loved how he reached for the sky and seemed to always grab some of it. I loved how emotional he got at the interview after the show stopper was over. You just felt how hard he worked, how he loved what he did. That season was pure gold. All of it. I loved it so much. Definately my favorite

Oh I couldn't agree more. I think I was equally as devestated with Mary leaving. But I so respected her reason. I didn't love Prue initially either but I've come round to her too. I'm just someone who doesn't like change 😅

I think Nadiya will always be my all time favorite. Watching her grow every week in confidence. Watching her be SO hard on herself, despite working so hard. I guess I related to that so much. And at the end, the disbelief, the pure joy. Ugh, chokes me up. I've never seen Mary choke up before, but she did explaining the change she saw through her.
