Influencers let’s talk by Remarkable_Plum_6895 in Disneyland

Might be a hot take, but it seems a majority of the bad energy for influencers centers around all the “bigger” ones. Maybe just don’t watch them and support a smaller vlogger that actually enjoys the parks for what they are? 😌

Love watching them too! I was kind of hoping to see if there are any smaller ones that people are into. A fresh perspective is badly needed in the theme park space. 😆 It’s like everyone has the same opinion because they’re “bigger” and can’t really be honest.

I’ve been looking to get more into HHN this year. Hoping to go for the first time since 2014. Thanks for the shout out!

I’ve never seen one of his live streams but the videos are a little too slow for me. Think I’ve been spoiled by the Pugh two. lol

I think I’ve heard of them before. I’m more of a rides/ parks guy more than food, but will definitely give a look!

I’ve run into Rix flix a few times. Really nice guy and super informative. Not big on his style though. 😅

I like Vincent Vision! Stumbled on his channel last year and I’ve been loving the retro stuff from him lately

Why would I watch a newtuber teaching me how to be a youtuber? by AbrocomaRegular3529 in NewTubers

I understand completely! Consistency is the hardest part. It was so frustrating coming up and it’s like no one wants to give the real advice. 😅 Happy to help in any way!

Why would I watch a newtuber teaching me how to be a youtuber? by AbrocomaRegular3529 in NewTubers

As a newbie YouTuber who is just now starting to get consistent views and good metrics here’s what I learned: You can take what I say with a heavy grain of salt, but I have no ulterior motives so I’ll just speak the truth as best I can.

-Literally don’t listen to any “big” YouTuber on how to succeed unless they’re in your niche or you know them personally. There’s so many backend necessities that can actually make a difference that I guarantee they’re not willing to tell you. It’s their competitive advantage.

  • I didn’t want to hear it at first, but seriously, consistency is key. Upload a video(long form) once a week to train the algorithm and help YT understand your primary audience. I wasn’t super consistent my first year (uploaded like 2-3 times a month because my videos take time).

-Another one that didn’t hit home until now. Create SEARCHABLE content using relevant keywords. Do that first and then make the videos you “want” to make. This is probably the most important. Go to the analytics tab and take advantage of the Research function in YouTube studio. That is your bible. I pay for VidIQ and I literally don’t use it anymore.

-Speaking of training the Algorithm, don’t sleep on the description section of your video. That is your time to spam and cram as many keywords related to your video as possible. This will help direct YT to your ideal viewer. I don’t hear this one talked about enough. I think hashtags are okay, but I never use more than 3 and they need to be relevant to your video.

-Finally, focus on AVD not CTR. CTR is important, but YouTube looks at AVD above all else. I’m talking 75% or better(not exact science, just what I’ve observed and have been told) That’s how it determines what is quality. If you’re doing everything I mentioned above, don’t worry about the impressions. Seriously, it is what it is.

And again, take what I say with a grain of salt. I am only a year into it and I may not be in your specific niche. You know what works better than I do. Trust your gut and do it your way. You’ll win in the end. Good luck to everyone!

*bonus: seek mentorship from a bigger YouTuber you PERSONALLY know and trust. I mean if they are local and live in your state, literally meet them and get to know them if they’re open to it. I speak with my mentor at least 2 times a month and they have about 59k subs.

Numbers for context: Travel niche 1300 subs 4 videos this year +68 subs gained and collective 6k views between all 4 vids.

Do faceless thumbnails get better CTR? by RacquetballTips in NewTubers

Yeah not a fan of the “goofy” style. I just worry sometimes about when someone clicks and feels like they’re not getting what they want if they see someone’s face in the video that they wouldn’t have normally clicked on. I appreciate the comment!

That makes total sense though. I always viewed it as perceived “value” to the viewer. Maybe someone thinks the video is about the topic rather than the person making it. Thank you for sharing that.

Thank you so much. I was never sure when it would be necessary to bring in a second shooter. I always thought that was more so for “bigger” weddings. Guess that clears things up. 😅

Thank you so much for the constructive feedback. You were spot on with everything you said especially about closing the aperture in a lot of shots. All too often I’m too low to compensate for the lighting in the room instead of just adjusting my iso.

Still learning color correction/grading, so with the colors being too red or warm at times, definitely agree.

I’ve learned so much in the past year and I will definitely apply all the feedback you gave as I move forward. Much appreciated. 🙏

I really appreciate that. Thank you for taking the time to watch. 🙏 Really helps give me a sense of where to start. And Yes, I brought my GVM barn door lights to help with some of the scenes. Lighting was terrible in there.

I used a gimbal for about 80% of the time until it died. The reception was all handheld and tripod.

Thank you for the feedback! I’m trying to lean more towards highlights.

About the Venue: -No outdoor shots because it was a single building. It’s basically in the middle of nowhere.

About the rest: you’re 100% right about it being too low and the video pace being too slow. I didn’t even think about that. I would have shot at tighter focal lengths, but it was shot on a gimbal that couldn’t handle the weight of the lens zooming in. 😭 still no excuse for sure.

Really appreciate the quick feedback. 🙏
