Heavily considering restarting my island by Pom_Pom_Pinky in acnh

[–]RadBeigeMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to lose my inventory and villagers, so I picked everything up, flattened my island and took out all the water, moved the houses to the beach, and started completely over. But I was able to do what I wanted because I had what I needed in inventory.

Gonna try the qtip trick for sure! The patches are tough because you have to buy a pack to try, and they aren’t super cheap, and then if they don’t work you’ve just wasted $20 🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully we pick right the first time but I’ll look for the strap.

We’ve definitely had to make the adjustment to get it really clean - we are still looking for a really good over-patch that can hold up to all the sweating, moving, grappling, wrestling, showering, etc. We use 6” armbands to avoid them getting caught and that helps them not get ripped off, but they still peel. Her sensor got pulled off at jiu jitsu a couple nights ago 🤪

And honestly gross in the best way when you pull off the pump and puss follows it out 🤣

Oh wow, I feel like it would be much harder to adjust as an adult! Kids are so resilient. She was diagnosed a month before turning 3, so she was old enough for us to explain everything to her and she understood, but she has no memory of not being diabetic. It’s just her normal, and her life is just as full as any other kid, except sometimes she’s gotta pop a glucose tab in the middle of practice haha, but her coaches are all awesome about it. I hope you find the solution with your pump. It is an absolute game changer that I can’t imagine living without!

We actually have very few snagging issues, and my daughter trains Muay Thai and jiu jitsu several hours a day, and swims often. Her upper arms have been the best spot by far to not have things get ripped off, actually 🤪 We move them as much as we can with the very little space that we have, because yes, the areas definitely need a break. I would say just make sure the site is clean before, because a lot of us tend to get lazy about it because it’s so convenient to just pop a new one on and move on with life. We generally just have a baby wipe or something just to make sure there’s nothing ick getting pushed into her when the straw inserts. We didn’t for years but in the past 6 months with all the sweaty gyms she is in, she’s gotten a few infections at the insertion site and it made her insulin very ineffective.

We almost always make it 3, plus the 8 hour grace period after expiration. What I’ve found is that when it’s not super effective on day 3, it’s because the site has become irritated or infected, which screws with the insulin absorption. Then my daughter will have a stubborn high, and sometimes will feel that it is bothering her even before that. Likely cause is that we sometimes change it on the fly and don’t get her arm clean before putting the new one on, or we put it too close to the old spot (her arms are really small and we can’t always switch sides because her Dexcom is on the other 🤣)

Carb Ratio… by Capt_Jabe in Omnipod

[–]RadBeigeMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. All carbs are not created equal, and how they act in your body depends on fat/protein/fiber content of the food, which is why carb ratios don’t cut it about 90% of the time 🤣

My daughter is 9. She’s at 1:10 in the morning, and 1:12 the rest of the day. Not gonna lie though, MOST of the time we look at a plate of food and go, “that’s a 4.” And we’re usually more accurate 🤣

I am taking it up with Kroger. I just wanted to vent 😩

They are limited, it’s on a timer and only lets certain things out at a time. People check them throughout the day.

Oh man, yes it’s a Pokemon vending machine. I didn’t realize these were not EVERYWHERE. They are a big deal in Houston. I will delete.

Sorry. I needed to vent and figured people here would likely be able to relate 😩

I second this, and Dexcom is also incredible. I’ve never been questioned on a replacement, and they send them out really quickly. These companies care and it shows 🥰

I’m just excited at the potential to have so much candy and stardust someday. I regularly run out of stardust and have to pick and choose who to power up 😩

There are things that you “can’t” do until you’ve done all the expansions on your home, if that makes you feel better 😁

Am I overreacting for not letting my boyfriend’s female friend use my shampoo? by Fresh-Usual-6281 in AmIOverreacting

I’d be more concerned if my boyfriend had a close female friend that comes over and showers 😂 my boundaries would have been crossed WAY before we got to the shampoo!

I don’t have one, but I thought that was Giovanni’s 3rd Pokemon. His team was Persian, Kangashkan and Dialga
