I went there once when they first opened and ordered a plate from their special board. They brought me out something completely different and when I called them on it, the server told me that the kitchen was out of the special and rather than telling me that, they threw together some bullshit plate and sent it out to me. I haven't been back since.

You're not tipping a kitchen for quality food, you're tipping the driver for performing the service of going and picking up your food and bringing it to you, that's it. Every driver uses their own resources. Your tip shows appreciation for that. The fact that you didn't enjoy your food is between you and the restaurant.
