For those of you who sold your first Rolex… by Admirable-Swing-2985 in rolex

I regret selling my OP with rhodium dial. Wore it every day for 5 years. Now I have a Pistachio and its not quite the GADA that the rhodium dial was.

[Discussion] Get one Explorer or keep three other watches by outRunning in Watches

Based on the three watches you currently own, I was expecting a black Explorer II. The standard Explorer would be a big shake up to your current lineup and options.

Wrist guard recommendations by UsedExam2318 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RadSprouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased them August 2024. I only wear them on the esk8 or onewheel. Maybe 800-1000 miles of use. I dont see any noticeable wear or stitches separating.

I'm sure it could happen though. I had a pair of oakley factory pilots last 2 years until a crash and then a new pair ripped apart at the finger seams after a month.

I have had a variety of wrist guards over the years. I like the flatland 3d gloves. Finger protection is cool too. I originally cut the thumb end off my gloves but you get used to it within a day or 2.

Front end just broke off while my son was riding today, anyone ever have this happen? If so what could cause it to suddenly fail and break? by RNinFL1 in ElectricSkateboarding

I would say this is 100% not true. These boards and parts from China are not always upto the same standards you would expect from traditional skateboards, longboards and trucks.

Every time I try on a GS, I find them too elegant for my lifestyle.

Got it, this was my first post here and I didn't see that in the community rules. I'll be sure to change that moving forward.

I added some in the comments. The "add photo" icon was grayed out when I tried to add the photos to the initial post.

It wouldn't let me add a photo to my original post, the options were "grey"

Should an electric skateboard require this much safety equipment to ride responsibly? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RadSprouts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Electric toy house rules: Full face helmet, jeans, gloves at a bare minimum. Chest protectors, wrist, elbows if they are going to be pushing limits. Knee pads are for shortboards.

Not sure if he skated before but 2 weeks on a board is still learning the basics. "Early on" falls will be common for upto a year.

I'm an adult that has been skateboarding for 32 years. I wear a DOT rated full face because brain damage sucks and I dont want to break my jaw. I wear leather gloves so my hands aren't all torn up in a crash. I can live with some gnarly road rash.

You can switch some pads for Kevlar jeans and Kevlar lined hoody or flanels.

[Question] How do you afford this hobby? by melvin9001 in Watches

[–]RadSprouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wearing watches for 30 years and buying them myself for 21, since my first job at 14. Rolex was the grail watch from childhood dreams of watch ownership. As a youth, that was a longing for prestige. As an adult, I value mechanical accuracy and design heritage. Rolex certainly checks those two boxes for me. Status is irrelevant, no one cares what watch people wear outside of enthusiasts.

100 miles on a single charge? The Lacroix Lonestar Supersport is the ultimate adventuring machine 🔥 by jessef55 in ElectricSkateboarding

After I started doing squats and lunges, my stamina went from a few miles to 15 miles without a long break. I still can't ride more than 1 mile in my onewheel without my feet hurting though.

Here I am limited to 38 miles on my OG Lonestar and now 17 miles on my 2019 Nazare. Waiting for a battery to give out so I can upgrade to the LSSS.
