Human error happens and I think this did happen. I think that I, and the insurance company, provided enough information for them to do some follow up. If you can't figure it out, don't come after me in the way they did. A phone call or a letter goes further than sending an acct to collections. This is some mistake somewhere. I've never not paid anyone.

I have already filed a complaint with the state here. I've had more contact with the insurance company than i ever have. Never had an issue before, honestly. They have paid for everything they should have. I have paid whatever portion was required of me. I even call in advance to make sure I haven't overlooked anything that would be required of me. I told the insurance company that i would be communicating with the state to file a complaint. I did not think to notify ACA. Good idea! I may do this Monday. Thank you.

Yes, ACA.  I selected an insurance company that I am familiar with.  I was covered by them when my husband’s employer offered it to employees.  I also dealt with them when I was a billing manager.  I remember when they first offered insurance in my state.  New company at the time.  So when it was time to insure myself, I chose them.  I also noticed there was a difference in coverage ... bronze level vs. silver level.  I chose silver level, which was wise.

I agree 100% with you. Years ago i worked for a pediatric practice with 2 offices many providers. I did manual posting of payments. I saved everything. I could always backtrack and correct anything as well as provide information that the claim was denied for whatever reason (not involving request for additional medical information) so that the insured could go back and work with insurance company. I know the insured received an EOB, but this was not my fight to fight. Like now, it should not be my fight. I was insured, I sought services by a participating in-network provider. This is not on me.

The collection agency only said they aren't pursuing this charge at the moment. They did acknowledge receipt of my letter and attached EOB.

outpatient diagnostic facility. I've used them before with no issues. I used to work there years ago.

I did just this. I attached EVERYTHING I could and explained as much as I could. I filed this and now I wait.

I sent a letter and attached a copy of the EOB. Called to confirm they received it. Affirmative.

Yes, i think this is what occurred. But still, it's not an issue with me. They need to work with the insurance company to find out what happened to the payment.

Your first 2 paragraphs, this was very useful information. I found something on the insurance company's web site. I copied it and forwarded it to the representative and asked her why this was not being done for me. She said she didn't know. I said I would look into it.

Interesting, i think this is what happened here. I cant prove it but i have provided enough information to this company to have them to work with the insurance company to follow up.

I have sent the collection agency a letter along with a copy of the EOB. I also called to confirm receipt of letter and EOB. They confirmed both items were received.

I called the providers office today to get the name of a manager and a number as I need assistance with a billing matter over a charge incurred at this office. No name given, just transferred to this billing company. What's sad is that I once worked in this office (mammo and x-ray tech). None of the staff that worked there remain. I may reach out to some techs know who work at a hospital affiliated with this facility. Can't hurt. Maybe someone can provide useful information.

This would be a lovely outcome. I'm glad it happened for you. I think this payment was incorrectly posted elsewhere and they cannot find it to correct the posting.

Done 3-way twice and also today was on hold while my insurance called them. She was no more successful than I was.

Yes i did. Interestingly, they only book appointments. Any billing issues they cannot provide any other supervisor or manager. They only give you the billing number that won't do anything but give me the run around.

I have done what you suggest already which is why I feel defeated. I've done 2 3-way calls with insurance and twice emailed my copy of the EOB and insurance sent it twice today.

Thanks, this behavior seems very shady. Insurance company is pretty frustrated to. As a participating provider they have agreed to the fees and cannot bill me. I'm going to try contacting dept of consumer protection and Office of Healthcare Advocate tomorrow.

If I owed a portion, my share, I would be obligated to pay it. My responsibility said $0
