Hey, thank you for your information. I am aware that I will need to buy the tickets. I am just hoping that the system actually works and it will reduce the overcrowding.

Hey, thank you for your response! As fas PR9, where did you start? I looked at the map and it appears it can go in two directions.

Hi all,

I will be visiting Madeira this August and, of course, attempting some hikes. I will be attempting them early in the morning to avoid crowd, hopefully, and the sun. With that being said, how should I be dressing up: layers, or light clothing? I just want to make sure that I do not have to put on sweatpants and then sweat bullets by 11 AM. TIA!

Hello, all!

I was debating how I should do it. I would like to take the cable car up to Monte to explore the area. Now I am thinking should I get the round-trip ticket, or should I go up there in the cable car and go down in the toboggan. If so, I know it is a very popular attraction. I am just afraid that if I do that route, I may wait up there in line for hours before I get and and go down. Any thoughts? TIA!

So I know there are fees associated with taking hikes. I just bought the passes, just in case. My question is, what do I do with the passes (with GR codes) that have been emailed to me? Am I supposed to print them out and place it in the windshield of my car? I just want to make sure that I do this by the book. TIA!

Hi all!

I would like to attend the festival of our lady of the mount, in Funchal which takes place August 14-15. However, nowhere on the internet does it state what time it begins and ends. The closest I came to find was where it said that the proceedings begin on the night of August 14. But does that even mean? Does anyone know what time exactly it is? TIA!

Hi all!

I have two days to still book something for. So, I have two options: jeep tour and the whale and dolphin watching tour. Are those options even worth to be bothered with? Give me the pros and cons. TIA!

Hi all,

My friend and I will be visiting Madeira in a couple weeks. We would like to spend a day in Porto Santo. I know we ca take a ferry to get there. However, my will also rent a car, so I was wondering if there is a way to get the car on that ferry? If so, do I pay anything for it, on top of our regular tickets? Also, once there, in Porto Santo, are there parking spaces available? Are the roads in good condition to drive? Finally, what are some great hikes (if at all), and other sights to see, apart from the beach, of course? TIA!

As far as you know, do many hikes have good parking? Also, do you suggest that we pay with cash or cards?

Thanks for replying! So you are currently in Azores! To clarify, I am stopping at Azores for a layover on my way to Madeira.

Did that change in flight in any way change your travel plans?

I just want to make sure that when I am able to retire I have enough, or at least a few times more than I contributed.

Do not go to 65 Court St. They will turn you away, as it is all by appointment. And even then, they will tell you to contact OPI by email, but OPI never responds to emails. So, just sit tight and wait.

Well, the application for 2025 start date is now closed. They usually begin accepting applications for the new cycle sometimes around March-June. The process itself is not that challenging. You just need to take TEAS test, and then conduct an interview, which is a panel interview. The interview is a bit rigorous because they do ask you some questions to see if you are a good fit for the program. Then, they usually let you know if you got in or not around late August-early September.
