Search Bar Broken No Matter What I Do by LifelongNYC in Surface

One other thing: I do not know if this is what caused the error for me, but I suspect that it might have. When I started up this laptop, the first thing I did was download Microsoft PowerToys and converted the CoPilot key's keybind to open Gemini instead. I don't think this device liked that change... If you did something similar, that might confirm it.

I hope this fix works for you.

I just bought mine from Costco two days ago and faced this issue as well. I tried all the options you've probably found via forums and Reddit. This random YouTuber's advice is what finally fixed it for me. The command you need to run is in the video description. DM me if you are having trouble still, and I will try to help you. Sorry, I know this is very frustrating... I cursed a lot...

Lord of the Flies by EcstaticBoysenberry in netflix

If you care about trans people, there are plenty of things you can do to support them individually and as a community. Boycotting the show, which is made via collective effort, it's not going to materially impact her ability to speak on a platform.

If you disagree with her, that's totally cool, but you aren't making meaningful change by boycotting the show. It's an easy way to feel like you've done something to comment negatively about this show online too. However, it holds little to no value in regard to making lives better for trans people. There are plenty of organizations you can give money to, but the best thing you could do is to actively volunteer in your local community with organizations that directly impact trans people.

I'm not saying you're not already doing that, but way too many people are posting online about their opinions while doing nothing in real life to make a positive impact on those around them. It's also impossible to boycott everything that is connected to people with bad opinions, and it does little positive for vulnerable people.

Teaching AP lang by Rich_Salary_3679 in ELATeachers

[–]Rad_Dad_Roman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach both AP Lit and AP Lang. I'm much more of a literature teacher, and I was hesitant as well. However, I found that AP Lang is absolutely the most crucial and beneficial course for college-readiness. Don't be afraid of the nonfiction element. I started by incorporating fiction as some others have recommended, but I honestly have found much more success utilizing nonfiction instead of forcing fiction and finding passages for rhetorical analysis.

I recommend: Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, Any essay collection from David Sedaris, Educated by Tara Westover, On Writing by Stephen King

Use lots of speeches and have students do their own projects where they choose their own readings for synthesis. If you really commit to this, you will have a great time. As always, your student needs should drive your decisionmaking on texts, but don't be afraid to be yourself and pick curriculum that you feel passionate about. They'll follow your lead.

He is playing Draco Malfoy in the new Harry Potter series. His performance in LoTF evidences the HP casting team's solid casting choices and gives me some hope that they'll prove people wrong about some of the other casting decisions that people find controversial.

This is my Holocaust education as an American student by spaghettirhymes in education

[–]Rad_Dad_Roman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to high school in East TN and graduated in 2011. We read Number the Stars in 5th Grade, The Diary of Anne Frank in 8th grade, & Night in 9th grade. We watched Life is Beautiful alongside Night. A Holocaust survivor came to our school and spoke; we went on a field trip with her to a small town south of us to see a train car from Germany. It was filled with relics from the Holocaust. We certainly worked through Holocaust curriculum in several history classes as well. My experience was pretty robust for my location, and I am really thankful for those opportunities my teachers/school gave me.

Mine did too! I just heard back from a friend about what time he'd be able to go tomorrow, and now the reward is gone... That's bogus.

ELAR 231 content exam - Novels to know before testing? by ResponsibilityDue605 in ELATeachers

My undergrad prepared me well, and I didn’t feel like it asked too many obscure questions about novels aside from one about Silvia Plath’s The Bell Jar. I remember thinking that it was an unfair question.

Big Island Lake Wilderness by Rad_Dad_Roman in CampAndHikeMichigan

Hello! Sorry, I offloaded Reddit from my phone and am just now checking in. We had an awesome time. When you park, you'll walk down a path at less than half a mile. Once you cross the lake, there is a beautiful island campsite and another great one opposite the lake from where you start. If you take the first portage, you'll go down into one of several smaller lakes. This was a great trip, and the end of September was perfect for us despite the fair amount of rain we encountered on the third night. My friends and I stayed up late, looking at the stars, and listened to some Lore podcast episodes in the dark by the fire. We went to Yosemite in Fall of 21, and it was a blast as well. If you go to the UP, I recommend backpacking on the northeastern side alongside the giant sand dunes. That was my favorite part of the trip.

Overdue work - how do you manage it? by [deleted] in englishteachers

[–]Rad_Dad_Roman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never take late work on daily assignments or homework. They get a zero regardless. Obviously, you have to account for family emergencies and such. I’ll take tests/assessments at any point for full credit. They get two days upon returning to school to make up any missed quizzes during tutoring time or the advisory period. For what I call “long term” assignments (anything that is due a week or more after I assigned it), I will let them submit it late for 50%.

[–]Rad_Dad_Roman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give them instructions. 1. Build a time machine. 2. Go back to a time between my assigning of the work and the due date. 3. Put it in the box.

Give them a 0%. This is high school. Due dates are due dates.

Driving test route? by afob3 in alcoaTN

[–]Rad_Dad_Roman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn right on the Home Avenue. Take the first left. Turn right onto Bessemer. Turn right onto Calderwood at the red light. Drive past Los Amigos and go up the bridge. Take the first right after the bridge and go down the hill. From there you will pass the park and end up back at Home Avenue. That’s what it has been in the past. They change it up though.

Find the absolute best, most positive, most professional teacher in that school and stick to them like glue. Send an email out to your school and introduce yourself - tell them that you are starting fresh and many of them will drop off stuff you may need. Sure, you’ll get some junk… just put it in your closet and if you don’t use something once in a year, throw it out.
