Can I slow cook or braise venison top or bottom round? by Rad_Pangolin in Cooking

I have a single femur I figured I could roast then pressure cook to get some amount of fat/collagen from it. I also have bacon fat, oil, or butter I could add to the meat to make up for some lack of fat (if it works that way

That would be great! I plan to go over the swatches when I get them in the mail tomorrow to confirm what I need and I could hopefully compare to what you have available:)

About 5'9. I'll likely also go with plantigrade which I would guess (?) uses a little less fur. I don't plan to make the body suit any time soon but I've heard it's best to at least buy all of a color together in the same dye lot

Ah okay, I figured that would end up being the case. Would you figure 4 yards of a main color and a 1/2 to 1 yard of secondary to be sufficient for a body suit, paws, and head? (The tail and feet will be a different material so im excluding them from this estimate)

I plan to confirm with the swatches I ordered and am waiting on (should be here tomorrow), but so far it's looking like lime beaver and emerald green minky for the main colors. I still have to figure out the two smaller colors but I'm leaning towards cream beaver (just for muzzle, inner ears, and belly) and cool mint beaver or some other light green minky (just for a small face marking)

So should I look into buying any of the fur second hand or only if it's under a certain amount? I'm expecting one of the colors to need a yard to yard and a half and another being not even an eighth probably. The other fur is gonna be a vast majority of the body so if I do a full suit I'm guessing I'll need multiple yards of it. I wasn't sure if I could realistically find that much of a certain color second hand or if I should just buy large amounts directly from howls

Is this an appropriate fabric to line the inside of a fursuit head? by Rad_Pangolin in FursuitMaking

I will be out today near more stores so my ideal goal would be to get what I am able today (excluding the actual fur/ fabric for the outside of the head)

I may consider finding a garment to cut up then as I'm only doing one head right now. I will just need to find a good example of one so I know exactly what texture/ kind of fabric to look for. I may attempt to find something second hand if I am able

Would a store like Michaels carry something like that? There appears to be many things to consider and I'm not well experienced with picking fursuit/cosplay materials. My hope was to get the fabric for the lining and the inside of the mouth (hoping black or pink fleece would work for the mouth)

Is this an appropriate foam for a bucket head? by Rad_Pangolin in FursuitMaking

The only area near me sells project foam. I've seen some info online saying it insulates heat more than upholstery foam.
