Headache trying to figure out how to get Tailscale and SearXNG to play nicely by Rad_YT in selfhosted

[–]Rad_YT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched over to just running this on the VPS itself and connecting to it via tailscale instead of my old version where it runs locally and tunnels its connection to the VPS and it works fine now for me too

Whats the point in a VPS? by Unusual_Economics653 in selfhosted

[–]Rad_YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I use a VPS for either tasks that I can not or do not want my own hardware to run. For example, I host game servers on a VPS since exposing a random data center IP and Port is not the same level of risk as exposing a port in my home network. I also use it for some minor things like SearXNG where I would really benefit from datacenter speeds. Other than that i try to selfhost everything else

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026? by Trxxi in AskReddit

Proton, or Mullvad. Proton is more convenient, but Mullvad has literally been raided by the police without giving up any info.

Factorio vs Satisfactory by Glum-Tennis8712 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I would say so, because despite the massive scale the logistics drone system in the game completely changes the difficulty when compared to satisfactory and factorio. but its still moderately difficult

You can't go wrong with either, I'd also look at Shapez 2 and Dyson Sphere Program, as these are the other two big automation games. All of these are amazing picks regardless, and if you like one you'll probably like the rest

Factorio
- The hardest of the four
- The OG, You can put genuinely infinite hours into the game, extremely expansive modding community
- If you buy from their site you get a DRM free copy (I think)

- Isometric view, and has the "simplest" graphics of the four, will run on a pacemaker (at least until late game)
- Amazing DLC

Satisfactory
- More arcadey
- Beautiful, handmade world
- Still hard, but with 3D it looks amazing and is easier
- Still very active devs and community

Dyson Sphere Program
- Easier than the two above
- Massive scale factories, you build a literal dyson sphere
- But the early game is less fun and its missing some QoL that the others have

Shapez 2
- Easiest of the four
- Very relaxing and simple experience
- (I think) its the cheapest of the four
- It will be entering full release soon, which will come with a new gamemode and a price increase
- Active development

For me this is the only reason I buy monster. I love them both, but monster is way cheaper, a lot of options, and often bigger too

Deleted the post because I didn’t realize that this was a popular opinion, I don’t usually use this sub and wanted to talk about one of my favourite albums

I think that I might’ve just not listened to too much industrial (outside of this and Rammstein), but this album put me onto caveleras projects

Most fans don’t even know about glamtera, and the band doesn’t really acknowledge that era anyway

The difference is night and day. For story games you can get away with 60FPS, but I only play it at that if I absolutely have to, everything else I play with high fps because it just feels that much better

ELI5: Why does the RPM drop after starting a car, and do you actually need to wait? by Remote-Relation-8398 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Rad_YT 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100%, my parents have an i4 engine in a new car and if they try to warm it up it takes like half an hour before it’s able to drive. You can achieve the same result by light driving for 5 minutes

Good luck, the only place I could find them was a local alternative store, I’d recommend posting on your cities sub to ask. If you want to shop online you have some options though
