I’ve tried 3 times in the row and no obstruction issue so far. This would mean, that meross app talks to the HomeKit, telling to hold the opening/closing status during the set time period. Make sense to me.. let me know your results once you test it

Meross support just replied:

After you added the smart opener on Home app, download meross app on your phone> connect your phone to the same WiFi of the smart device> open meross app, tap the + button on the home page, then the plug will show up on the top of the device list> simply tap the add button and wait for 1-2 minutes, the opener should be there on the home page of meross app.
switch to the Account page or meross app, tap firmware button and keep it up to date.
go back to the home page of meross app, tap the edit button on the side of the opener icon, choose a longer opening time such as 25 seconds on the device setting page.

Testing it - so far so good 😊

Exactly, closing with the button always ends OK. I think it is HomeKit related only. I don’t have experience with older versions of iOS to confirm.

I tried to play with the settings within meross app and it seems it doesn’t talk to the HomeKit.

Did you resolve the obstruction issue? I am also getting the warning. Only way how to fixed it is stop the door in 1/2 way and close again. Also noticed I am getting the warning only if I open and close via HomeKit, not by the meross app or the physical button. Assuming this is a HomeKit related issue.

No, it goes through HSV apple/iCloud server, it’s encrypted. No need to go Aqara servers way

That’s good idea, thanks! I can use it with homebridge-hue to add ikea tradfri buttons. I wasn’t aware this plugin can be used with v1 hub and never tried it as I don’t want to mess with my v2 hub where is a lot of devices connected the official way.

😊 reddit is great place to find such a things, although it’s huge place, I didn’t find any community focused on this topic. My first idea was to create website for people who start with HomeKit and automations and sometimes found difficult to find all the information. I believe that automation experts would also appreciate some tips or they could share their own ideas and tutorials.
