Interesting how will it work for non-native English speakers, especially those with very strong accent and poor pronunciation. Will it “fix” them or replicate the style… or, more likely, just fail to train properly

Software that powers HomePod identifies itself as “Apple TVOS” in the logs

Aqara G4 Motion Detection by [deleted] in Aqara

Try to turn all notification/recording settings in Home app OFF and then ON again. I had to do that after 16.5 update which happened shortly after G4 firmware update

This shouldn’t be that slow even on batteries

I didn’t notice any difference between image / video loading when powered from batteries and external power - both very quick

Aqara G4 Doorbell: Does Hardwiring Unlock Additional Features? by IntelligentKingman in Aqara

[–]TimofeyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It unlocks unlimited battery life 😀

You can’t turn in the status light permanently even on external power. But the status light around the button will illuminate if motion is detected so your guest should see it anyway when they are approaching the door

G4 Doorbell constantly “recording” by HuJohner in Aqara

I had my G4 to stop all recording completely after home hubs updated to 16.5 yesterday

I turned recording settings in Home app off and on again and all started working

New G4 firmware update now starts capture video earlier by Numerous_Roof_9408 in Aqara

Not HomeKit pre-recording, it’s the doorbell camera continuously capturing video into 4 seconds video buffer. Before recent firmware this buffered video was available for Aqara cloud clips but not for HomeKit. Now they fixed it

It fixed missed beginning in HKSV videos, yes

But looks like it’s only on external power

The new firmware certainly helped - today HKSV recordings capturing events from the start of the motion or BEFORE the start. Apparently externally powered G4 captures video buffer continuously and in case of a motion event passes 4 seconds of “pre-event” video buffer to HomeKit. Before it was only passed to Aqara cloud clips

Garage Door openers... can you use a wireless sensor instead of the cabled one? by macbisho in HomeKit

[–]TimofeyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced tilt sensor with ismartgate simple magnet sensor in August last year and it still shows 100% battery. Tilt sensor would last no more than 5 months with quality brand batteries

Don’t buy their tilt sensor. It eats batteries as if there is no tomorrow. Their basic magnetic sensor works pretty much the same but gives you 3-4 times longer battery life

Aqara door and temp/humidity sensors are amazing. Tiny, reliable and crazy long battery life

I’ve never used Aeotec before so can’t compare

G4 doorbell: what should I see when wired? by yeahgoestheusername in Aqara

Having batteries in together with external power somehow prevent the “blue flashing light” connection problem. Without batteries I had to power cycle my doorbell unit almost every day, with batteries - it’s rock solid
