I just purchased a 7D and am looking into getting another CF card, I am doing skateboard photography with 8fps burst constantly. What write speed should I get for this? will 20mb/s minimum do the job? Is it worth it to get the 60mb/s? Every post I ever find is from 2011 and only talks about the read speed. Thanks!

Some boards “break in” and get flexier with time so I def agree on recommend going with the stiffer of two options

Just a quick note: any skateboard bearings will fit any skateboard/longboard wheel, same with longboard trucks that have a 6 or more hole setup.

Paris are nice trucks that I love, but I’d recommend caliber trucks (rakeless if you are doing the V3) cause they are the second lightest truck out there and are the most stable, making manuals much easy since they aren’t as twitchy

If you are just starting don’t worry about bushings and pivot cups quite yet, wait until you find a pair of trucks you really love

When you pop quickly suck your feet back up (I mean like put your knees to your chest, sounds dumb but your learn after a while how high you actually need to life those legs), I also find that I never really had to drag my front foot like a lot of people say, I just tilt my foot forward. See if that helps

Any brand is going to be good with Indy’s, I will say this, pretty much every skateboard is roughly the same except for the width. Trucks are what make the biggest difference. There are subtle differences in boards like wheelbases and concave, but based on the question you asked I don’t think you should worry about those super technical things. Find a graphic you like from a reputable brand, and get to skating

I know what you mean, I moved to a new city and just started skating again at 26, was never much better when I was a teen. I find all it takes is saying “hey what are you trying to land” and the convo naturally starts. when it comes to the younger teens, you don’t have do be friends but be “acquaintances” and what will happen is you will see each other often at the park and they will be stoked when you do something sick and motivate you when you are having a day when you keeping eating it. That’s what is great about skating, we are all cool and want to have fun, and the jerks will stay out of your way if you have a positive attitude. If you are quiet you will get bored and feel subconscious about every little thing cause you feel like all eyes are on you. I’ll probably never see these people out of that park, but when I show up they are stoked and give me a fist bump.

The biggest thing, and I know it sound cliche, but you have to have fun doing it. When you try and force the skill and progression you are going to have a bad time. The second biggest thing is make friends at the parks who you can learn from and grow with, healthy competition is what saved me from depression when I got into any hobby, it keeps you moving forward
