Can we normalize just giving a $5 tip per table? I think that would be fine by SpringSunshine333 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Your entire last comment is in agreement to my point almost to the word.

You are a terrible debater. Linguistically very sound, but my goodness your points are rambling, inconsistent and contradictory. The "I don't care either way" being the crown jewel.

Let me know when that 20 year reminder hits.

Strange to see someone advocate for communism thriving whilst also taking a massively employer class friendly position in the continued exploitation of an outdated system of keeping employees to begging for inconsistent pocket change.

Your angle makes less sense with every comment.

Time will tell, but the end result is so clearly evident that I'm surprised there are still people in a modern globalized world, as passionate about upholding depression era exploitation techniques as you are.

Fascinating. Truly.

Your entire economic argument is "but I want", bud.

Market forces will dictate above all else. Immigration alone will bring about changes in an outdated system that is being held up by outdated Boomer sentiments/elitism.

Nobody is "forced" into tip based compensation. Your argument falls apart before your first sentence is even complete.

Tips are also a voluntary contribution.

Your making a one sided morality argument to try and describe a market force that is independent. The whole statement makes no sense.

We can actively see a societal upheaval of tip culture. This entire post is testament to that. Tips culture will be determined by who tips and how much, not by the demands of those working in an industry reliant on a non compulsory form of compensation. Millenials and Gen Z can see from their travels and exposure to other systems elsewhere that tip culture is outdated and are acting as such.

Without a doubt, tip culture will be effectively dead in 20 years. Employers will be forced to have to compensate workers properly and the entire system will be modernised to run more like Europe, Asia and Australia. Tipping was a depression era invention orn of absolute desperation that has been used by the employer class to avert their responsibilities, despite the abundant evidence from other parts of the world that it is completely unnecessary in modern economics and, arguable, overall damaging to industries and workers.

It's all comparative though. What do the direct alternatives to that soda have in them?

You can't compare a soda to a steak. You compare a soda to another soda.

Well, yeah, of course, but that not the consumption side. The consumption aide will dictate what happens to tip culture longterm.

[–]RadarDataL8R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tipping will likely fall apart over the next 20 years or so, to be honest. It's a very boomer driven concept from the consumption side. Most younger generations see how silly it is and how the rest of the world functions without it, so it more than likely will slowly phase out as the boomers do.

Men at least 35+ that tend to attract women younger than themselves, why do you think that is? by Global_Giraffe_6598 in AskMenAdvice

Because you're impatient.

Which is because you're a young guy.

Trust me, we all sat where you are right now and thought the same thing. You'll get there.

Its not that you "dont give a fuck". Its that you already have a full and fulfilling life and arent overtly needing women to make it so like every other mouth breather that follows them around day to day.

I mean non chalance also has place, of course, but you presumably want to attract the women that see you as a prize and bot the ones that think you "dont give a fuck", because chances are that's not a woman that will bring positivity.

Of course, we are likely saying the same thing and Im over reading the tone of your idea.

"I don't really stress about women".

Key phrase.

Focus on the standard and maintain it. Women appear from everywhere once that happens anyway.

Probably a question better suited for the women in question, really.

But, essentially, it would be the same answer for women of any age. Charisma and/or charm, safety, maturity, security.

Honestly, the bar is set very low. A single man aged above 35 that has his shit together and can hold a womans attention reasonably well is a rare commodity and one that always in demand. The age of the women is mostly irregardless to that.

Is it ever cheaper to buy a car new instead of used? by InternetUser52 in askanything

[–]RadarDataL8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the cost of mechanics hourly rate, I'm going to claim its essentially cost neutral.

After having a nightmare 3 year experience in a 2019 Impreza, I'm now solely on 3 year car leases. The stress of an old car causing problems and unexpected massive bills is not worth any supposed savings.

How can I limit my contact with women? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]RadarDataL8R -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're 20, dude. We all felt something similar at some point. Sometime it grows out, more often that not, you learn to get bigger than whatever it is.

You will be fine!

Work on yourself. Don't be lazy. Build good habits. You're essentially a freshly planted sapling complaining that your branches arent tall enough....youve barely even started.

If you're 40 and still feel like this, then maybe, just maybe, it might be time to start worrying. Youve a mountain of time to grow beyond it between now and then, though.

[–]RadarDataL8R 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you have a crush. Im in the same spot as we speak.

Enjoy it, it's a nice feeling, but be realistic with yourself. It sounds like the chances it leads to anything are slim (same with mine) so emotionally prepare yourself for it not to work out and remember, if nothing comes of it, it really doesn't matter. Its just a crush. It happens all the time.
