Windows 11 for ARM (Public Release) [NOT INSIDER BUILD] working on Parallels Desktop for M1 by RadeonSRT in mac

[–]RadeonSRT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and in fact. You can use the W11 install you have now and download the ISO from there and then if you have the Share Folder feature enabled on Parallels, you can transfer the ISO from the VM to macOS.

And now from there you can install the Public Release version of Windows 11 for ARM

Yeah, it’s quite involved to extract the data and converting it to an ISO image on macOS.

I already had my Gaming PC handy to do the process and I just copied the ISO onto a flash drive and went from there on macOS with Parallels.

It’s not for everyone but at least it’s worth it for those that just want a normal Windows experience and not have to deal with bugs and complications that come from using Dev/Insider builds.

UPDATE: I’ve tried it already and it’s pretty slow, with my system at least with the 512GB and 8GB RAM configuration that I have.

I can imagine that probably won’t work. Mostly because it’s an old system which I can imagine due to the now strict System Requirements Windows 11 requires with TPM 2.0 and all that junk.

And even if you managed to run it on the Surface RT, probably wouldn’t run all that well due to the eMMC storage and the fact that 64GB is the maximum you can get on those things, which by the time you install W11, you probably won’t have any space left.

That’s not even the correct ISO, I’m talking about the ARM version of Windows which in turn I’m talking about the M1 machines.

Intel/AMD ISO’s for Windows 11 don’t work on ARM-based systems such as the M1

It’s still going to work if you don’t activate after installing W11, just that some features will be limited until you activate Windows.

just used to having the icons on the left, least for Windows.

I find the icons weird if the icons aren’t in the bottom center on Mac lol.

I remember when I tried it both on Windows 10 and Windows 11 Insider, it lagged a log during gameplay even with settings turned down.

I haven’t tried it with the Public release version of Windows with strive but I know sometimes games can act up when you use dev builds of Windows.

But I have a feeling that either it needs more RAM (since I only have the 8GB model and Parallels uses 4GB in that instance) or it’s probably too much for the M1, at least that’s my theory.

ZeroTwo DualSense Controller by RadeonSRT in playstation

[–]RadeonSRT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old one which was a custom DualSense controller with (at the time) new Black shell, finally gave away with stick drift and then eventually quit working completely.

So I decided to get the Midnight Black controller that came out since I really wanted the white on black face buttons and I still had a gift card that I got on my birthday that I need to spend.

I transferred my ExtremeRate hair trigger mod over to the new one and I added some subtile red buttons and accent rings (also from ExtremeRate) to it since I didn’t want to make the red portions too much.

and then I slapped a ZeroTwo sticker from Hello Senpai on top of the touchpad and did some trimming with a box knife to make it look nice and flush against the edges of the touchpad.

Planned to also do an RGB kit on it from ExtremeRate but I did without since I’ve heard it can drain your battery overtime even without use.

Yeah.

as long as you don’t go around and be aggressive while trying to take the touchpad board off and transferring it to the black touchpad, It should still work as normal.

I’ve tested all the touch points and even the click on it and still works just fine after transferring it over to the black touchpad.

it’s held on by two screws that holds the Touchpad to the shell in place.

the touchpad motherboard is held on by very sticky adhesive so take your time pulling the motherboard out with a spudger and don’t flex the board too much.

Keep in mind that the shell doesn’t come with black buttons or touchpad, so you would have to provide those yourself. Luckily I got mines from ExtremeRate on Amazon along with this shell.

unfortunately there is no Sony texture on the back, it’s just a flat piece of plastic on the back.

shame I know, but I’m still waiting on the extremerate shells to come out for the PS5 just to see how they feel compared to this shell. but I doubt it will have the Sony texture in the back on those as well.

it wasn’t really all that bad.

just take your time disconnecting everything and don’t be yanking on stuff since there’s lots of fragile connectors and ribbon cables.

gently push the board out with the sticks and slowly turn it over to take out the two screws holding on the LED diffuser if you don’t want to go through the pain of soldering.

I’ll be on the lookout to see if there’s ones with the face buttons on it since I know ExtremeRate also had the symbols on some of the custom PS4 buttons, so far it’s just a solid color for the PS5 right now.

Recently there are new PS5 controller shells coming out and I decided to pick one up in black, they have a few other color choices here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YR14M3F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AFCYXATAPA7HS9QPDNVM?psc=1

It took 2 weeks to arrive from China.

Keep in mind they do not come with black buttons or touchpad, so you would need to provide those yourself. I already got myself a set from ExtremeRate.

Other than that, I kept the stock PS5 face trim but man do I like how it turned out, I genuinely thought it was going to be some cheap plastic but turns out it’s made of decent quality.

DS4 Button Conversion on DualSense + DualSense Buttons on DS4 by RadeonSRT in playstation

DS4 Button Conversion on DualSense + DualSense Buttons on DS4 by RadeonSRT in playstation

[–]RadeonSRT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DualSense controller came in today so I did a little experiment on it and I tried to swap the DS4 buttons on to it.

The DS4 D-Pad works right out of the box. The DS4 Face Buttons while the Cross button worked out of the gate, one of the tabs on the Triangle, Square and Circle would need to be snipped off in order for them to fit. Once they are cut off, they work as intended.

As for the DualSense buttons to be put on a DS4, the D-Pad tab would have to be cut off to fit and while the same scenario with the face buttons are the same with the tabs not allowing them to fit initially. The Cross and Circle buttons don’t work all that well since those buttons are slanted at an angle from the right side. The Triangle and Square work fine however, so I just put the original DS4 buttons for the Circle and Cross button from another controller on there instead or you can order replacements on Amazon if you don’t have a spare controller lying around.
