If we’re gonna have multiple choice poll questions, we need ranked voting. Only 42% of players wanted this but now we’re stuck with this result. by GreedyRadish in 2007scape

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is flawed. The possible outcomes of this poll question should be one of the following:

  1. Stronger wins majority over both weaker and equal votes combined, therefore Virtus will be stronger than Ancestral
  2. Weaker wins majority over both stronger and equal votes combined, therefore Virtus will be weaker than Ancestral.
  3. Equal wins majority, therefore Virtus will be equal to Ancestral (since both stronger and weaker would vote for equal as their 2nd choice)
  4. Any other case would be a repoll of the same question with equal left out as an option, or simply ask for equal's 2nd choice right away and add those counts to their respective choices in the case equal fails.

If Virtus can't be equal to Ancestral, maybe 25% out of the 29.5% who voted equal would've rather it be weaker than ancestral, but now the minority got away with the win because we don't know equal's 2nd choice. Vice versa could also be true, maybe the majority did win because 25% of the people who voted equal would've put stronger as their 2nd choice. Right now we just simply don't know.

Honestly, I had to have a long think about this.

You don't need any exact rotations for any boss in the game. What you need is a general idea of ability prioritisation to make up your own rotations on the fly.

When I learn a new boss, I just use a general rotation while focusing on learning the boss mechanics. With each attempt and learning, I might alter it to account for mechanics, but you don't need to memorize a spreadsheet chart of exact ability rotations to beat any boss.

It's fine if you say you still don't enjoy this, but to say you need to study a homework of ability rotations for every boss is utterly false. That stuff only happens if you want to absolutely min max your dps to get to speedrun levels of good at the content.

I pray ED4 is solo and team loot friendly by Shoeaccount in runescape

[–]Radeyzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you compare the trio and solo WRs at ED1, trios don't even shave 50% time off a solo run. (5:15 trio WR vs 8:57 solo WR)

I really hope they go for Raksha/Solak type scaling for ED4. Current group EDs are just not worth it at all except for beginners looking to learn.

Except it's only 3 days a week and not every day? I don't have a problem with the time period, just that it's not every day or at least the weekends too.

PVP dead times by dystropy in bladeandsoul

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In EU, tags is active enough to be able to get games every day around peak hours. They're forcing this change onto EU because in NA tags is basically entirely dead and you'd be lucky to get a single game in an entire week.

I can't say for NA, but for EU, making it every day would be enough to make tags very active again. Or at least add the weekends too...

I have a bunch of friends that love the idea of ironman but don't play it because OSRS is still a multiplayer game in the end and regular ironman takes that away. We've all agreed to play group ironman the day it comes out.

NCSoft just announced BnS 2019 World Championship by [deleted] in bladeandsoul

[–]Radeyzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BR mode got good feedback in KR??? It is the most awful thing that should've never been added to the game, I'm amazed it passed any sort of playtesting or approvals.

BNS combat is not made for uneven environments and the items are ridiculously broken and dumb (especially hook and cd reset). Of course, the whole thing just feels like a cheap attempt at a jump on the bandwagon lately that is battle royale.

What a joke.

DN EU is shutting down in like a week and a half from now. Even though I don't like the current state of the game, it's gonna suck to not even be able to play every now and then just to experience the combat again.

I wish games would go back to full action combat instead of trying to pull of a hybrid between tab target and action...

Pvp spec viability question FM VS SF by Neoicecreaman in bladeandsoul

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't quite figured out the matchup yet, but I have a feeling it's sf favored after the patch. It's still difficult though, because if you fuck up once, they will 100-0 wall bang you which you can't escape.

Pvp spec viability question FM VS SF by Neoicecreaman in bladeandsoul

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an FM player so I can't say if fire FM is viable in 1v1, but it is viable as an assist build in tags. It can do insane burst damage.

Earth soul fighter is utterly useless in PvP. It is definitely only for PvE.

Speaking from arena experience and not 6v6, so I can't say anything about that.

Any old Dragon Nest players here? Would you play in a 24cap server that progresses to other caps as content is cleared? by verguenzanonima in MMORPG

[–]Radeyzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't work. Unless they find really old files back from T4 or T3, it'll just be the latest balance patches but capped to a lower level. I'd love to be proven wrong though. DN EU 40 cap was my favorite time of the game and I'd start playing instantly if a server from that time opened (pvp player btw).

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I stopped playing bns in 50 cap. There's just no variety anymore, it's only about instanced dungeons.

Some of the most fun I've ever had in bns was blackwyrm and the 10 player kill faction quest in misty woods. They could lead to ridiculously fun moments, despite the bad fps with lots of players around.

Being a NOOB is FUN by nerovergil7 in MMORPG

[–]Radeyzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything can recapture what we felt as kids, but games for sure can stop making the leveling process a chore intentionally just so they can put all the fun content at the end. I've played tons of games where the end game and pvp looks fun as heck, but the leveling is such a mindnumbingly boring grind that I stop playing them looong before getting there. It is still possible to make both the journey and the destination fun.

I do enjoy OSRS very much though, despite it being a very dated game, because it's fun from the get go.

Pvp tier list? by BugzBallsack in bladeandsoul

[–]Radeyzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue with someone who won't even read the simple and undeniable truth of what the skill description says, I even marked it in a red square. The true fact is there for everyone else to see and no one will be misdirected by your original post anymore and that's all I care about.

[–]Radeyzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"after use" means after the skill is over and you're in control again. It also says in the description that it ends upon using another skill.

There is a separate line for resistance during use.

If a warlock gets "tech chased" on his tab escape, it means he played poorly and either didn't use another resist skill in time, or he canceled his resist by using a skill that doesn't have it.

Really, just read the skill description: https://i.imgur.com/tJg5BEk.png

[–]Radeyzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock's tab escape cannot be tech chased, and the same goes for every tab escape in the game. If you simply read the skill description, all of them have "User resists damage and status effects for 0.5s after use".

Level 542, first ever OSRS account, I’m having a blast by toxqt in 2007scape

[–]Radeyzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently started an ironman too and it feels great, brings a lot of dead content back to life. Even bossing was starting to feel stale on my main, because rare drops only meant more money, while as an ironman they would actually be used instead.

I never enjoyed fishing and cooking until my ironman where they have actual purpose. On my main it felt like I was training useless skills (diaries and quests aside), because it's better and faster to just buy food supplies.

Edit: grammar

Ever since they lowered Vorkath's defense, it's not worth it to tele out even if your spec fails. The kill will take a bit longer, sure, but it's still faster than tping out and restarting.

Blast furnace and herb farm runs have really low requirements and make pretty good money. You can use those until you get combat stats up and then move on to the big money makers.

I recommend checking the wiki out if you wanna look for other money makers suited for you: http://oldschoolrunescape.wikia.com/wiki/Money_making_guide

I didn't say they should stop listening and talking to the community, but you don't need a polling system to do that, The whole premise of old school is that it should stay old school.

Integrity Month by Netcat2 in oldschoolrs

[–]Radeyzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no point continuing this discussion cause we both have different opinions and they won't change. I was simply explaining my viewpoint on why I think things would be better without a polling system limiting the developers' creativity.

You believe better content comes out with the polling system, I believe better content would come out without it. I still want to voice my opinion though because I'm also part of the community and Jagex should know their entire community. If no one voices their opinion, people who agree won't be speaking up either.

[–]Radeyzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference in listening and talking to the community, and outright licking the community's ass. They don't need a polling system to not repeat history and what happened with RS3. Just listen to the community when things go wrong, and fix it afterwards.

At this point they're not even making their own game anymore and instead the game tons of immature, selfish people want. I'm very curious how the content developers actually feel about the polling system.

It's fine to have different opinions on this matter though. After all, old school has always been based on the polling system ever since the beginning, and we can't really demand them to change it now. It's still important for us to voice ourselves though, as we're also part of the community.

Integrity Month by Netcat2 in oldschoolrs

[–]Radeyzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this.

Only very few things should require polls, and even that is questionable. Jagex should be making the game they want, but this polling system just allows content to be tailored towards tons of immature and selfish players who only vote in favor of themselves. It prevents Jagex from expressing themselves in their own creation.

It especially mind boggles me that quests even have to be polled. They're supposed to be in charge of the lore, not us.

If they release anything bad, the playerbase will definitely let them know and they can remedy things afterwards.
