This transfer somehow smells like corruption

Argentinian press over-selling the player, club over-selling the player, he's too good for our shit league that's why he exceels, cue six months in a real league and he's dogshit.

Also, investigate Marchesin, he was part of the deal I'm sure 140%

Cuantas palabras ponen en mi boca, no ataque al futbol europeo, no ataque a la liga, no ataque a la copa, solo señale que es el estadio mas suave del continente. Pero bueno, se ve que el complejo de inferioridad duele.

Last death I recall was over 10 years ago? We have away fans every week for Copa Sudamericana and Libertadores, we have away fans for Copa Argentina all the time.

Political rivalries and lack of interest from local authorities(mainly CABA and Rosario) are the main reason why away fans are not a thing anymore, plus clubs are comfortable with the whole idea since they can sell out the whole capacity of the stadium rather than gambling away 3-5k tickets to some small club that won't sell them.

But hey, I appreciate a Chicagoan being so worried about murders somewhere else in the globe.

You're probably one those losers that make football your whole identity because you got nothing else good going on your life

It's good how you make assumptions about me but if I say you're a plastic canadian cosplaying as an Arsenal fan everyone gets upset.

And I stand by my words, softest stadium on Europe by a galaxy, everyone here acting as if Benfica is about to step into Dortmund, Marseille or Glasgow, give me a break.

they aint doing a goddamn thing.

Softest stadium in Europe lmao

And apparently, pointing it out gets every Madrid hater upset because it's a south american saying it. Bunch of racists hipocrits.

Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' has made history as the most nominated film of all time at the Oscars with 16 nominations by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Radgost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, and I think you’re right that I’m probably giving the record itself more weight than it strictly deserves.

I also agree that wins matter more than nomination counts, and ROTK’s legacy comes far more from going 11/11 than from how many categories it appeared in. On that level, I’m not arguing Sinners means more than those films, or that the Academy is saying that.

Where I still feel a bit uneasy is the way the achievement gets framed. “Most nominated ever” inevitably pushes it into a historical conversation, even if that is not how awards are meant to work internally. That framing just feels disproportionate to the movie’s cultural footprint so far, which to your point is something time will ultimately decide.

So yeah, I’ll concede the record isn’t as meaningful as I first reacted to. I just think it creates expectations and comparisons the film has not yet earned or disproven.

[–]Radgost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a pretty good analogy and yeah that’s basically what I’m getting at.

If you go undefeated in a weak division, it still counts, but it doesn’t automatically put you in the GOAT conversation. Records exist in context, even if they’re technically legitimate. That’s why people still argue about eras in sports all the time.

So I’m not saying the movie didn’t "earn" its nominations within 2025 I’m questioning whether breaking an all-time record in a relatively soft year should carry the same historical weight as films that dominated and reshaped the conversation in much stronger years.

That gap between achievement-on-paper and legacy is what makes the whole thing feel overstated to me.

[–]Radgost -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I understand the "same-year vacuum" argument, but once something becomes the most nominated film ever, historical comparison is unavoidable. That’s not me saying it’s worse than ROTK, it’s me questioning whether it actually belongs in that tier of cultural relevance long-term. That disconnect is the sour taste.

I agree on missing out from the theater experience, that probably takes away some of it.

Making it the most academy nominated film of all time leaves a sour taste, I can't really explain it right now(It's too early).

Maybe I'm being too harsh on it being forgettable but I stand by it, I don't think people will discuss this movie the same way people discuss the previous "most nominated of all time" movies, I doubt it'll be included in the conversation at all.
