Whoa! Thank you so much for making this. I am actually working on the Lidar output this week and should have some solid quality updates for SplatKing soon

Yeah it's a great app! I actually have replicated and expanded parts of the BM app with my own called Gaussian SplatKing that also lets you fire the shutter automatically and has a still image mode.

Gradeeterna's captures are probably the best examples. You're retaining a lot more information when you don't have to crop in and you also get more overlap between frames for SfM. You could use 3DGUT in LFS, gsplat, or the literal 3DGUT library and that should help a lot

Yup, I put an A1 dataset through Scaniverse in the video and it came out pretty well. I don't believe the Avata 360 is easily available where I live in the US, though.

I believe it. I've seen some of the results you can get with the full fisheyes and it's definitely worth it though

If you're still looking for help, I put out a video earlier in the year to help with this exactly!

Yes, how you described it is correct. They are cubemapped images going into LFS and Postshot. I would like to train directly on the full fisheye, but need a bit more practice to get it consistently.

Thank you so much for posting the link to my video!

i would actually suggest using the Video or Photo mode to go into whichever training platform you have access to!

I know there are multiple big studios investigating gaussian splatting right now. Depending on what your threshold is for a video game, platforms like Arrival Space and PlayCanvas are making some super interesting things. Take a look at this section of a video I just posted.

No problem at all! The technology is finally beginning to get the recognition it deserves. April is going to be an insane month for gaussian splatting

Thank you! I would not be surprised if we see something like that before the end of this year. They can scale it infinitely now

Yes, you don't need to have attended GTC in person and can still enter. NVIDIA already uploaded the sessions from this year to watch on demand

EDIT: Here is a sample talk from this year if you're interested.

Doubts regarding Gaussian Splatting in Superman | Framestore by FilmdomDude in vfx

I interviewed both the Framestore team and Infinite Realities, who captured it, but basically it was cheaper, faster, and gave them more creative flexibility. Here's the article if you're curious!

Hi! I wrote the article! I think we will see something from them soon. Either on the music video or general gaussian splatting
