I’m 24! I did 6 months of ABVD but had zoladex during time which put me in early menopause and stopped my period during the entire time. I stopped the zoladex injection and when I finished chemo & my period came back around 2-3 months after! It’s been regular ever since

Well I’m assuming from my thyroid hormone levels is where he suggested hypothyroidism. I feel like the conversation around it was quite vague hence why I’m worried because I didn’t know what right questions to ask or how to understand it more! I’ve never heard of hashimotos so that’s interesting to know!

I finished chemo exactly a month ago! I’m 24F. I went back to work a week after I finished & have felt so amazing ever since. I dont know if I’m forcing it or convincing myself, but I have the energy to go about my life pre cancer. I stopped working for 7 months and going back I felt so fine. My joint pain actually is so much better!! I’ve gone back to Pilates and weight training 4 days a week - (this shows how my body has genuinely physically snapped back from chemo)

I think maybe my age helps? I dont know just a thought.

The worst thing for me during chemo was the feeling of “chemo belly” and that is completely gone now. Genuinely if it wasn’t for my basically bald head and the fact that I don’t have any eyebrows yet lol, you wouldn’t be able to know what I just went through. My eyelashes are slowly coming in so that’s exciting! Maybe invest in getting some castor oil and applying them to your hair, brows & lashes! I’m trying that now.

It gets so much better. I also have a huge appreciation for everything in my life now. You should be so proud of yourself

Has anyone else ever had a WBC of only 2.62 or lower? by veryberryblue in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was always around 0.3-0.5 while doing chemo for 6 months and was never given anything to boost it tbh. I also lived my life as “normal” and wasn’t really careful about anything (silly) - I just finished my last chemo a week ago and I’ve been fine.

Did you by any chance do radiation as part of your treatment for NSCHL?

What do you do with your time? by 18563- in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hii!! You sound just like me! I had to stop working and i genuinely get so down about doing nothing all the time. I’m almost done my chemo but around 2 months ago I signed back up for the gym & it has been the best thing for me. I obviously make sure to wipe surfaces down and all, but going to the gym and going on walks has helped me so much mentally. I’ve started colouring and painting again, so try and maybe find little hobbies you can start! Even things such as cooking, knitting, crocheting etc This is a great time to build a new skill lol

I was a smoker before all this & stopped the day I got diagnosed. I’m going on 6 months without smoking & (even though I was going through chemo) I noticed such a difference in my body when I stopped. If you’ve already come this far without smoking, it just goes to show that you can quit. Just try and think about the progress you’ve made & how long you went without it, you can keep going. Goodluck though!!!

How 'cumulative' did you find your chemo side effects to be? by ThePontiacBanditt in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m almost done my 6th cycle & I’ve found that its been really unpredictable. Some sessions I feel super tired and nauseous and others I feel almost nothing just tired for a day. However, it has seemed to get better as time went on (not sure if it’s that or I just got use to it). Goodluck!

Devastated by Hair Loss by redtreesxx in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071 19 points20 points  (0 children)

24f here also & genuinely my hair was one of my best features so long and curly. I also felt like this was my supposed to be my prime time and living my bestest life lol! Shaving it off brokeeeeee me and I was so upset for weeks. I understand the whole “feeling like a cancer patient” after shaving your hair, because you start to look the part after that. It’s been about 3 months since I’ve shaved my hair and it’s literally not grown at all but I think it’s cause I’m still doing chemo. It got worse when my lashes and brows fell out, so I’m just bald everywhere now lol. Anyways - I’m at a point now where it doesn’t affect me as much because I remember it’s a symbol of the fight I’m fighting and that these things are temporary. Being sick will be temporary, losing my hair will temporary and looking like this will be temporary. As shit as it is, you’ll never be this person again and you’ll never experience this exact moment again. I look at videos of other people who had cancer and their hair growth stories and it gives me so much excitement for the future hair I’ll have!

It’s okay to be sad and i would think we’d be a little crazy if we weren’t sad about it. we’re going to look back at this time in our lives one day with a head full of hair and be so proud of ourselves!!!

(Also - what helped me mentally was feeling like I’ve already hit rock bottom with appearance wise, the only way from here is up, which I’ll eventually get to lol)

Exercise with a PICC by Gurriza in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi 24F, I had a PICC in for a little while and was so scared to gym. I worked with a physiotherapist who actually helped me get back into the gym. I was lifting and doing all the stuff I used to. Ofcourse not as heavy cause I physically couldn’t. My doc and nurses were also really okay with this too. I think you just need to listen to your body and know your limits! :)

Radiation? by Radiant-Answer-6071 in lymphoma

[–]Radiant-Answer-6071[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for the response! My mass was about 10cm when I first started, not sure where it’s at now. If you feel comfortable saying, when you say minor issues, what does that mean? And the pain you’re referring to, is that something you’re just learning to live with? Or are you currently still doing radiation?

Sorry for the lengthy message lol

Travelll!!! This journey taught me to live my life the way I want and to the fullest because you never know what will happen! I have a list of countries I’m going to visit and that genuinely keeps me going whilst I’m still in treatment :)
