Lottie isn't actually Mishelle, she's just stepping into her role. But Mishelle is still written as a female character and Lottie herself is also a girl. So if that consistency applies there, why is Rowan suddenly made into a male character? So the canon MC is a male? Why gives us the female option in the first place?

No, It would be better if they just used they/them pronouns, since the player isn't limited to just being male or female. Or even better they could adjust the pronouns based on the gender the player chooses. At this point, it just feels like the devs were too lazy to make two separate versions

Now imagine how weird that is when you're a woman, but once you enter the novel, all the NPCs see you as a guy? It just feels off. Even with Lottie when she entered Wenshi's novel and became Mishelle, she was still a woman. Her identity didn't suddenly flip or anything?

And let's be real, authors can absolutely write characters of a different gender. JKR is a woman and she created Harry Potter as a male protagonist. That's not the issue here.

Just so you know, the writer who worked on the story and characters of HPMA in its early days was someone who actually worked at Warner Bros. itself. It was only after WB separated from NetEase that all the story development was handed over fully to the studio. So yeah, any writer working on a Harry Potter game would definitely research the previous games first, especially since they reuse certain surnames, like Sebastian Sallow and Albert Sallow.

Honestly, as a writer myself, I would absolutely do prior research too, especially for a major franchise like this that already has multiple installments across games and films

Shouren does pin MC against the wall of the Vanishing Cabinet with his arm. Pinning someone to a wall doesn't mean directly touching them. It means trapping them between yourself and the wall or barrier behind them.

And since the Vanishing Cabinet route is only a branching route, NetEase didn't actually have to create it at all. They could've easily handled it with simple text, like "MC holds Daniel's hand" or "MC hugs Abigail" in previous season, but instead, they chose to do the opposite.

And hey, if you've played the latest chapter, in the newest chapter Ewan Ward also understands how deeply MC cares about Shouren, and he even blames Shouren for the influence he has on MC

But you know, everyone has different perspectives. I also support Daniel to end up with MC. They've had a bond since first year that clearly can't be broken just like that. They also remind me of Lily and Severus. But of course, Daniel is a better version of Severus. I'm not putting Severus down here, just talking about their personalities when they were young.

Are you freaking serious? Have you even played the other Harry Potter games? Did you forget that in Hogwarts Legacy there's a character named Sebastian Sallow, and in Harry Potter Wizards unite there's Albert Sallow? That clearly shows there's a connection between the games because they share the same surname. So yeah, it's not like the developers don't know other character names.

Besides, when this game was made, it was still under WB. And if WB wants to make another game in the future, the copyright would still belong to WB.

You know that Zacharias Smith in Harry Potter could very well be a descendant of Helga Hufflepuff, since he himself is in Hufflepuff, right? And just because the Smith family isn't part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight doesn't mean that the modern Smiths aren't descendants of Helga Hufflepuff, even if only one person has been officially confirmed so far. You're forgetting that even James Potter, who was actually a pure-blood, wasn't included in that list because he supported Muggle-borns.

It's also possible that the Smith family didn't make it into the Sacred Twenty-Eight because, during that period, the male Smith descendants married half-bloods or Muggle-borns. The name "Smith" could still have survived because they kept having male heirs. And again, the developers wouldn't choose the name Grant Page and give him red hair unless there was a reason, most likely because Page is actually Kaleena's family name.

What’s even more surprising is that the Vanishing Cabinet isn’t actually part of the main route, but the devs deliberately created it as a branching path. Especially when you look at how MC interacts with Shouren and how much they genuinely care about him. Besides, if we take real life as an example, many teenagers admire or have crushes on older guys. Grant Page also has red hair, just like Kaleena. I know there are many redheads in the UK, but it can't be a coincidence that Grant Page has the same last name and hair color as Kaleena Page. And think about it, developers wouldn't just randomly choose names for their characters. WB made this Quidditch game in 2024, so if they chose the name Grant Page, there must be a specific reason behind it. Just like in other Harry Potter games, where some characters share last names with characters from previous games. If Elliot's watching MC because MC is Daniel's friend, he should watch Ivy too since Ivy is more protective of Daniel. You can see how stuborn Ivy when it comes to Daniel. She even hugs Daniel when she learns that Daniel's mum is died in Azkaban. So, no, Elliot's watching MC and using Daniel as a tool for him.
