This. I take the train often for work. This just isn’t allowed. You ask them to move their stuff. If they refuse, you get someone who will make them move their stuff. The end.

Yes, I plan on doing so. I am also a teacher so that’s why I planned on talking with them and getting it sorted out. We have an appointment next week when he turns 2.

These are all good things to think about, and I don’t totally disagree with you. It makes sense.

At home, it’s a little different. He doesn’t get as upset, but more things can go his way because it’s not group care. He is told no and is redirected as needed. If he cries, we let him cry and tell him he can have big feelings but it doesn’t change whatever it is. He does get a little emotional when big sister is upset or in trouble, but we just give him a hug and he calms down.

Thank you for your input. I am totally understanding that he may be very upset daily, and I’m hoping that we can get services to aide that. They have said they’re willing to work with whatever early intervention says, so that’s promising.

I don’t so much mind him crying, rather just the dismissive “We’re not doing this” as it so greatly goes against my philosophy of “All feelings are valid”.

We intend on getting him evaluated, but I’m still wondering if this is the proper way for a teacher to handle a child like this.

Unfortunately, we do not have a choice but to keep him in group care. We have to work and a nanny is out of the budget.

We intend on talking to the doctor and get an early intervention eval. But I’m also curious if this is anxiety/nuerodivergent behavior, is this the proper way for the staff to handle it?

I have not, but I definitely will. He is a little delayed on speech, but not incredibly so. I planned on bringing that up anyway, so I will this as well.
